Louise Thompson has revealed what illness led to her hospital admission.

The former Made In Chelsea star was on holiday in Antigua when her health declined. After returning to the UK, she was admitted to hospital for over two weeks.

On Instagram, Louise recalled the moment she knew that medical help was required.

‘Whilst away I fell asleep lots randomly in the car and in the middle of the day and on the beach. Couldn’t really walk or pick up Leo,’ the 33-year-old explained.

Louise added that she was regularly ‘disorientated’ but tried to continue with the holiday that had been planned for ‘yonks’ so that she could create happy memories with partner Ryan Libbey and their two-year-old son Leo.

‘The fear kept escalating when I was going to the loo every 20 minutes losing cups full of blood.⁣⁣

Louise Thompson louise.thompson 4h As clich? as it is I can?t find a better word than proud @samthompsonuk !!!!! So I?ll just go with proud x 1000000000000000 I just received a call from my brother (I happened to be looking at photos of his face on my phone when his name popped up which was a little odd especially since our relationship has been v one sided and only via a tv screen for the last 3 weeks) but I?ve never been more thrilled to hear your voice. Instant tears (unsurprising from me). I can?t wait to have you back on home soil so that I can have one of your infamous hugs and also to see that wonderfully expressive face. xxxxxxxxx Missed ya. Ps. Leo can finally say your name and this took no prompting

Charms For Change

‘My body was ‘surviving’, ‘masking’ and ‘compensating’ but probably only because I’m young and I’ve got a good ticker. Bit of a miracle really.

‘Most people would be in A&E day 1 with my symptoms, I have no qualms in saying that because I know what my symptoms were and they were not ok, I’ll spare you some of the grittier details, but I became a little ‘too used’ to my chronic condition,’ she wrote in her caption.

When her health wasn’t getting better without help, Louise informed her family: ‘Things felt a bit dangerous. I couldn’t risk deteriorating further in a foreign country with a lack of adequate health care and without my notes.’

Louise booked an early flight home to the UK and went straight to A&E, where she was admitted.

‘I am a STRONG COOKIE and I am working hard on a speedy recovery,’ Louise told her 1.4 million followers.

The brave star concluded: ‘I still maintain that 2024 is going to be the best yet!’

Before she got pregnant, Louise was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, which is inflammation of the lower end of your digestive system, including your large bowel and rectum.

Since nearly dying while giving birth to Leo three years ago, the reality star has been battling post-traumatic stress disorder and post-natal anxiety. In January 2022, she admitted that she would cry up to 20 times a week.

Deals of the Day

Later that year, Louise – who went ‘partially deaf’ during her ordeal – revealed she’d been diagnosed with lupus, which is incurable and leads to joint pain, tiredness, and rashes as the immune system attacks healthy parts of the body.
