How to Ride the Arrow Train

Fares, Tickets and Passes

Purchasing Arrow tickets is no different than purchasing other Metrolink tickets. All Metrolink ticket and pass types are available for travel on Arrow trains. You may buy tickets on the Metrolink mobile app, from station ticket machines, and at select locations depending on the terms and conditions of your ticket or pass.

Service Updates

Staying informed about delays or disruptions on your train is easy. Metrolink provides notifications via Twitter and on our Train Status web page.

To receive notifications for Arrow service, follow both @MetrolinkArrow and @MetrolinkSB. This will ensure all segments of your travel are covered by our notification system, including the daily express train between the Redlands – Downtown Station and L.A. Union Station. (Please note that on our Train Status web page, notifications for the Arrow service are displayed under the San Bernardino Line.)

Rail Safety

Metrolink's Arrow service will have up to 42 trains operating along its nine-mile corridor each day. Because this area did not have passenger trains for many years, drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists must understand the importance of being safe around railroad tracks. Please visit our Rail Safety web page for life-saving tips and information.

Quiet Zones

To minimize noise from the sounding of horns at crossings, the Arrow corridor has been approved as a Quiet Zone by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). A Quiet Zone is a section of track at which locomotive horns are exempt from routinely sounding when trains approach crossings, except in emergency situations. Learn more about Quiet Zones.

Train Service – General Information

If you are traveling between a station on the San Bernardino Line and one of the Arrow stations, do you have to take two different trains?

Yes. Metrolink’s outbound San Bernardino Line trains, except for the Metrolink express trains, will terminate at the San Bernardino-Downtown Station. If you would like to continue your travel to any of the four stations along the Arrow corridor, you must transfer from a Metrolink train to an Arrow train at the San Bernardino-Downtown Station. (Note: Even though you are changing trains, you only need to purchase one ticket to cover your complete travel itinerary.)

San Bernardino Line express trains 381 and 382 will operate through the Arrow corridor; however, they only stop at the Redlands-Downtown Station. At this station, the Metrolink trains do not share a platform with the Arrow trains and will arrive and depart from the north platform adjacent to the parking structure.
