This algorithm allows us to compute the quantum corrections over the background-field contribution exactly. It is shown that in the conformal-invariant case, that is when the relation λ2=+/-4π/k holds between the coupling constants, the Wess-Zumino-Witten term is not renormalized to any order in perturbation theory.

After carrying out a general analysis of the kinematical aspects of the one-photon mechanism has been performed and the predictions of the vector-dominance model for theD * →D transition form factor are discussed. It is shown that use of the asymptotic behaviour of the form factors ofD *+,0 →D +,0γ* and the theoretical values of constants ofD *+,0 → D+,0γ radiative decay enables one to determine part of the unknown parameters of these form factors. The coefficient of the internal conversion forD * →De + e − is calculated and is shown to be model independent.

It is shown that in the invariant dilepton mass q2q^{2}q2 region (mpsi′2+0.2;GeV2)<;q2<;m2b(m_{\psi'}^{2}+0.2\; GeV^{2})<\;q^{2}<\;m^{2}_{b}(mpsi′2+0.2;GeV2)<;q2<;m2b the CP asymmetry is maximal and quite detectable.

By integrating the RGE's from string scale down to the weak scale we constuct the scalar potential, and analyze the quantities above at the tree- and one-loop levels by including the contributions of top squarks and top quark in the effective potential. In this framework, we construct and analyze the most general action density in terms of various invariants involving the curvature tensors, connexion coefficients, and the contractions and the determinants of the two metric fields. We show that this action admits a consistent expansion about the flat background such that the resulting Lagrangian possesses several novel features not found in the linearized Einstein-Hilbert Lagrangian with Fierz-Pauli mass term (LELHL-FP): (i) its kinetic part generalizes that of LELHL-FP by weighing the corresponding structures with certain coefficients generated by invariants, (ii) the entire Lagrangian is ghost-- and tachyon--free for mass terms not necessarily in the Fierz-Pauli form, and, (iii) a consistent mass term is generated with no apparent need to higher derivative couplings.

This kind of supersymmetry breaking is known to provide a solution to the μ problem and avoid large CP-violation effects. The asymmetries generated by the decays of heavy leptons do not suffer from wash-out due to the equilibration of left- and right-handed neutrinos thanks to the extreme smallness of the neutrino masses. The model ties up the smallness of the neutrino masses and the out-of-equilibrium nature of the heavy lepton decays with no tension with the overproduction of gravitinos.

We conclude that these radiative corrections are quite large after summing over the graviton and dilaton Kaluza-Klein towers, and there is no possibility of electroweak symmetry breaking unless one allows for the complex vacuum expectation value for the Higgs field.

All necessary and sufficient conditions for the possibility of deterministically converting truly multipartite, rank-2 states into each other are given. Furthermore, a chain of local operations that successfully achieves the transformation has been identified for all allowed transformations. The identified chains have two nice features: (1) each party needs to carry out at most one local operation and (2) all of these local operations are also deterministic transformations by themselves. Finally, it is found that there are disjoint classes of states, all of which can be identified by a single real parameter, which remain invariant under deterministic transformations.
