Stress [narrative] (original) (raw)
Angela's body is starting to reject the stress. Her face is breaking out, her scalp itches, her arms itch, and she's got dry patches of skin that no amount of cream or lotion will cure. She clenches her teeth far too often, and her jaw often aches.
She isn't sleeping much, but when she does, it's nearly impossible for her to get up in the morning. She's been late a couple of times, which she never is, and is falling asleep in study hall.
Home life, needless to say, is a source of constant stress. Between her father's drinking, visiting her Gran, making sure the bills get paid and the house gets clean...not to mention her schoolwork and maintaining a good average...Angela is ready to break down from nervous collapse.
The best times are when she and Elias meet, either in secret or on a date. Most of their time together is spent clinging to each other. It's about the only time Angela feels good.
