The definition of motivation is considered and the importance of motivation for a more successful... more The definition of motivation is considered and the importance of motivation for a more successful mastering of a foreign language is indicated. The authors have described and analyzed the types of motivation observed in mastering a foreign language. The authors examine some possible psychological and pedagogical conditions and ways in development of motivation in learning a foreign language. These conditions are divided into three groups: information, technology and personal conditions. Information conditions relate to the content of learning. Technological conditions are procedural and methodological basis of pedagogical process. Personal conditions are determined by the personal qualities of educational process members and interpersonal interaction of the teacher and students. The conclusion is that only the use of all of three groups will enhance students' motivation in learning a foreign language.

The article analyzes the average assessment of such activity types as research, study and transfo... more The article analyzes the average assessment of such activity types as research, study and transformation of learning information, discussion and knowledge application, and tutorials. There is some information on the frequency of guidance instructions. Data analysis helped to prove that the technology of flipped classroom is generally more complex and time-consuming for students, regardless of the degree program. It was proved that independent information processing and its presentation in the form required by the teacher are the major difficulties for students. The study has also assessed the benefits of flipped learning as an educational technology from the students’ perspective. The results have shown that the flipped training is more suitable for students doing master’s degree, who have more developed skills of independent work and have an opportunity to present the studied material through the professional experience. Professional activities of a teacher under the conditions of globalization and IT development of ... more Professional activities of a teacher under the conditions of globalization and IT development of the society have determined stricter social and educational requirements for language training of students doing a Master's degree in pedagogy. The development of new generation Federal State Educational Standards (FSES) and professional standards resulted in the need for cross-cultural business competence (CCBC). This goal can be achieved, if a number of requirements are fulfilled, in particular the justification and identification of CCBC development principles. The goal of this article is to identify the principles behind CCBC development as part of a Master's degree in pedagogy; to study the foreign language curriculum in view of the application of these principles; exploration of the foreign language curriculum in view of the application of these principles. In Theory section the theoretical and methodological approaches to the development of communication, and therefore, cross-cultural competences, are reviewed; the analysis of research and publications is presented that considers aspects of the issue and forms the foundation for the article's authors. The results of the research justify the educational purpose of learning foreign languages; CCBC structure in the Master's degree curriculum is presented; the CCBC development principles and the foreign language curriculum in view of the application of these principles. The conclusion includes the justification of theoretical and practical value of the article.

This article discusses the peculiarities of Moodle LMS and elements of training courses in it. The research aims at highlighting the assessments of opportunities and disadvantages of the Moodle LMS from the positions of undergraduate students and teachers in the quarantine conditions and before them. The authors describe objectives and principles of early learning, psychological characteristics of children’s readiness to learn a foreign language and the contribution of learning a foreign language in the overall development of a child. The article discusses methods of game techniques, as well as the factors that determine the success of using games in the classroom for children of preschool age. The definition of «quest» is given in the paper, the possibility to use this method as one of gaming techniques in teaching English is described. In this article, we focus on the current issue of teaching career chosen by the young people in R... more In this article, we focus on the current issue of teaching career chosen by the young people in Russia. To explore the topic we present a survey aimed at analyzing students’ motivation to choose teaching as their future profession. Our research was conducted on the basis of Minin Nizhny Novgorod State Pedagogical University (Russia), the survey involved 78 Bachelor and Master Degree students majoring in English as a foreign language. In the first stage we research students’ motivation presented by its components, namely, motives, aims, emotions and interest. The findings demonstrate the cognitive motive as a leading one for 82% students, while 18% of students are socially motivated. 60% of students are persistent in reaching the goal, 25% is in need of extra motivation not to backtrack in case of failures, 15% - tries to find various reasons to refuse from a difficult task. 65% has a low level of overall emotional well-being. 33% is subject to lose interest in the activity facing di...
