OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

ENVIROMENTAL IMPORTANCE

We installed The Leinster Rugby Sustainability Vegetable Garden in our Mount Merrion location, in order to allow the players to learn about sustainable food systems and food waste. This project allows players to become responsible for growing produce used in their food as well as implementing the importance of farm to fork food systems.

Food Waste is what kills the catering & food business, both financially & environmentally. We use the “TooGoodToGo” app daily to limit food waste at the end of every day. This is a system where we sell off surplus food at discounted rates at the end of day to eliminate waste. A swell as Too Good To Go, all our take-away or delivered food is in compostable boxes.

We have eliminated all single use paper cups in our coffee shops. Following this, we enlisted all our shops in the 2GoCup Scheme. In this scheme the consumer pays €1 for a re-usable cup when they buy coffee. They have two options then when they finish, 1) Return the cup for a refund of their €1 or 2) Bring the cup back the next time they want a coffee and re-use the same cup or a fresh clean one - https://www.2gocup.ie/how-it-works/.
