Seriously though, I'm sure a lot of us can relate to the idea of having a crush on a person, only to see them wind up with someone else. It sucks, but it happens. It can be especially rough when they're already your friend and you really want to be happy for them because they're happy, but inside you're just sulking and single. High school's rough.
What will Chiaki do, then? Well, it's just the first page of... probably a lot. So, settle in and let's see where this all goes! ^_^

Rain was a big part of helping me figure my gender out, so I'm thrilled to start another Jocelyn Samara comic. This first page is enough to get me to like the new characters. I'm looking forward to many more years of tears of joy and sadness, but mostly joy, from this comic series.
For those of you reading for the first time in the distant future, get ready for a wild emotional rollercoaster.

Hooray! It's finally here! I've been looking forward to this first page!
Taking a stab at how old they are in the timeline panels, maybe ages 6, 10, 14, and 17, or thereabouts? I suppose we'll find out pretty soon how old they are now, in 2000.
Oh, ouch. Starting strong I see. That sucks for Chiaki, but yeah, it happens.

Idk about rock bottom, she's still gotta isekai'd after all. Dunno if Truck-kun is in keeping with the atmosphere that Jocelyn's going for, but there's somethin' comin' :P
Here we go! Right off the bat, I find it interesting that Chiaki uses '-san' with Fumiko, but Fumiko uses '-chan' with Chiaki. Is that Chiaki's reverence for Fumiko shining through, I wonder?
Yeah, I kinda went back and forth on this during early planning, but Chiaki does hold Fumiko in very high regard, so it felt okay for her to say "Fumiko-san". :)

WRT crushes, for a while I was the harmless guy who listened to the lovesicknesses of several friends – regardless if I had a crush on them myself. Actually that helped me get over them; while I still liked them a lot, I could see that I didn’t want a relationship with them...
