Wallace & Daniel Prison Nursing Units
Mitchell County Hospital District in partnership with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and Texas Tech University manage two correctional facilities. The Wallace unit is located in Colorado City while the Daniel unit is located just outside of Snyder.
Between the two units, they provide a wide variety of health care services to an estimated 3200 offenders. Some of these services include medical, nursing, dental, mental health, laboratory, and radiology. Mitchell County Hospital District staffs around forty employees between the two facilities.
Correctional medicine can be a challenging field. The employees at these two units provide quality healthcare and they have been recognized for their excellent audit reviews. If you are looking to expend your career in a new direction, contact the human resource department to set up a tour or interview.
