Sensors when interspersed in our structures and ambient environment coupled with efficient relay ... more Sensors when interspersed in our structures and ambient environment coupled with efficient relay of the sensed data could provide numerous advantages to the society. Tedious tasks like monitoring a field or sensitive ones like keeping track of an endangered species can be automated through a system of coherent sensors. Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are self-organized network consisting of such sensors coupled with a radio unit. The nodes, powered by batteries, have limited computation capabilities. Most applications of WSNs require deployment in unattended remote locations. Therefore, power awareness is fundamental to data dissemination and routing in a WSN.

Frequent pattern mining is researched area in the area of data mining. Using frequent pattern discovery methods in Web log data can result into good practices. Discovering hidden information from Web log data is called Web usage mining. The use of advertising purposes in creating dynamic user profiles etc. In this paper three pattern mining approaches are investigated from the Web usage mining point of view. The different patterns in Web log mining are page sets, page sequences and page graphs.

In this paper, we present a novel method for deep user profiling using information available on s... more In this paper, we present a novel method for deep user profiling using information available on social networks about a user's activities and interests. We use this information to personalize the search for the user and make results available via web and low end mobile phones. In addition to using a user's profile as a context, we also use the context of location and implement a location based search engine for low end mobile phones. Finally, we combine the two contexts and implement a location based personalized search engine accessible from a low end mobile phone. There has been much work already done in trying to personalize search results based on user profiling. The top search engines attempt to build a user profile based on usage history and then use that to customize search. However, there have been fewer attempts to personalize search based on a deep understanding of a user's activities and preferences. In this work, we attempt to do this.
