📢 Tax Alert – Adopted Law on Global Minimum Corporate Income Tax in North Macedonia On 27 December 2024 the Macedonian Parliament has voted in favor of the Law on Minimum Global Corporate Income Tax, aligning with the GloBE Rules under Pillar 2 of the OECD/G20 Framework (BEPS). This law is set to be implemented retroactively for the tax period starting January 1, 2024. 🧾This landmark legislation introduces a domestic top-up corporate income tax that will impact the largest multinational enterprises (MNEs) present in North Macedonia, provided they meet certain criteria. With the domestic top-up corporate income tax, the profit of MNEs generated in North Macedonia will be taxed at a rate of 15%. 💸MNEs may not be required to pay domestic additional tax for the fiscal year if their average qualified revenue in North Macedonia is below 10 million euros and their average qualified profit is below 1 million euros. This exemption is calculated based on data from the current and the two preceding fiscal years for all companies in the country that are part of the MNE. The initiative New Joiners Breakfast with CMP that we introduced last year is becoming a tradition. At the beginning of December, we organized a series of breakfasts where our CMP Miroslav Marchev and the new employees in our firm had the opportunity to get to know each other more in a relaxed atmosphere. The new colleagues shared their experience and impressions from the onboarding process and the first months in the new work environment. With the opening of the new AML & KYC (Anti-Money Laundering & Know Your Client) Center and the expansion of other departments, the PwC North Macedonia team has increased by 80 people in the past 6 months, and continues to grow. We wish a warm welcome to all new colleagues! _________________________________________________ Иницијативата New Joiners Breakfast with CMP која ја воведовме минатата година полека преминува во традиција. На почетокот на декември организиравме серии од појадоци каде нашиот CMP Miroslav Marchev и нашите нови вработени имаа прилика во релаксирана атмосфера да се запознаат повеќe. This standard aims to increase transparency and consistency in financial reporting for insurance companies. The event centered around the challenges and solutions for successful local reporting under IFRS 17. Our distinguished colleagues, Marija Kazija and Ana Lapčević, Senior Manager, Certified Actuaries from PwC Croatia&SEE and PwC Serbia&SEE respectively, enriched the session with their insightful experiences, making the presentation truly thought-provoking. We extend our gratitude to our speakers and all attendees for making this event a resounding success.
