What. I like listing things down.

B1A4 - BANA since September 2013
who was my first bias: sandeul
who is my current bias: sandeullie
favorite era: what's going on
most played song by them: with you
how i became a fan: i knew them back in 2011 with their debut song, O.K. a friend of mine introduced them and i absolutely loved the song. it was catchy and fun and they were all so cute (though i only considered jinyoung during that time, but i did take note of sandeul's voice). unfortunately, i didn't like not having much to listen to, so i tucked it deep at the corner of my mind. fast forward 2 years later, my old HS friend who became a co-worker re-introduces them to me. i remembered watching O.K and she proceeds to show me new music videos. i searched meta posts and BAM!! i'm still completely in love with sandeul's voice, even if it does tend to get shouty when he reaches those notes. but every time i watch his solo performances during immortal song 2 and during those times in king of masked singer, i feel a surge of pride and i get teary eyed. i just don't know why, but i'm always proud of sandeul and i'm so happy he's getting the recognition he deserves. ♥

i watched them live; my first ever kpop concert (and actual paid concert). they were so tall!! it was such a fun experience that i don't remember most of it because i felt like i was partying too much. LMAO but absolutely no regrets.

SUPER JUNIOR - ELF since December 2013 (mostly Cloud now though)
who was my first bias: kyuhyun
who is my current bias: yesung
favorite era: don't don & cooking cooking (mostly because of the music)
most played song by them: I Am, Loving You & Good Luck!!
how i became a fan: to be fair, their popularity reached the Philippines back in 2009 with Sorry, Sorry but i honestly just made fun of them. i didn't like those types of songs. my HS friend (same B1A4 friend) knew me well enough to link me D&E's Still You MV on the day it was released. and she knew me so well, she linked me to KRY. i absolutely fell in love. if there is one thing i require when listening to music it's wonderful voices. and KRY was perfect because it was the main vocal sub-unit. i know i've fallen in love if they make me cry, laugh or get goosebumps. KRY was perfect. and then i listened to their entire discography. I Am is such a good song, especially when noted that the members helped write it. then i listened to sub-units: SUPER JUNIOR HAPPY NEEDS A COMEBACK OKAY. Good Luck was such a refreshing song. it made me cry from all the emotion, i can't even. i was also very impressed because instead of the typical romantic love song, it was in the point of view of a mutual friend. and then they went and gave yesung the point of view of the guy meeting the girl for the first time after a break up. it was brilliantly written and sung that i can't help it. and after watching SUPER SHOW 4, yesung managed to give me a neck fetish. /shot i'm so glad yesung's back from military (because just my luck, he's been gone a few months when i became a fan) and i can't wait to start watching AWL.

BTOB - Melody since January 2015
who was my first bias: minhyuk
who is my current bias: sungjae
favorite era: natsuiro my girl (i will include that as an era)
most played song by them: yeoboseo
how i became a fan: i actually find Weekly Idol very funny. There are times when they go overboard, but i do enjoy it when it's not mean humor. so i watched Hitmaker. sungjae was so sassy and absolutely fun to watch. it only took me this year to realise he was part of Reply 1994 (which i watched because of Baro). watched their MTV diaries and they're fun. ilhoon would grab my interest sometimes, and changsub is a complete bias ruiner, but it's still sungjae, especially after A Song For You 3. i'm a bit at the edge of the fence with BTOB because they haven't done anything that make them memorable to me. although i claim that, BTOB VOCAL LINE IS THE BEST VOCAL LINE EVER. all four of them can sing, and GOD DAMN IT THEY NEED MORE PROPER RECOGNITION. eunkwang and changsub are a given, really good singers, but hyunshik and sungjae are very UP TO PAR. i don't understand why they have a few lines when hyunshik and sungjae can very well reach a particular high note just as well as eunkwang and changsub. i love how they harmonise every time they perform and harmonisation is a weakness of mine (harmonise well and i'll love you forever and ever). sungjae blew my mind when he sang at king of masked singer. he has a really low voice, but he sang in a really high pitch all of a sudden and IT SHOCKED THE HELL OUT OF ME THAT I WANTED TO CRY. his partner couldn't even keep up. that's pretty much the only reason that's keeping me a Melody. also the fanclub name is awesome to be honest.

BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) - ARMY since October 2014
who was my first bias: taehyung
who is my current bias: taehyung and yoongi
favorite era: dope & run
most played song by them: BTS Cypher Pt2: Triptych
how i became a fan: i was just searching for something new to listen to and a blog post had the war of hormone music video and i really liked it. but i was at the edge at first because i abhorred the lyrics. it sexualised women too much and it was insulting. i was torn because i like the tune, melody and the way they all sang but the lyrics... argh. ANYWAY, i apparently had a friend who was already an ARMY, so she helped me by mentioning their variety shows: American Hustle Life and Rookie King. watched Rookie King first and yoongi was just adorable, all pale and messy brown haired. and if there's one thing that will help you sell me anything, it's humor. and Rookie King had LOTS OF IT. then it was amusing to watch them "become better hip-hop artists" in America. and hearing taehyung singing "home", it was ldghakhgalkhg!!!! i don't even LIKE RAP, but YOONGI MADE ME LOVE IT. i wasn't all that impressed until an episode of After School Club where a fan asked Yoongi to rap his part during Triptych AND GOD IT WAS AMAZING TO LISTEN TO BECAUSE IT'S A DIFFICULT RAP AND HE DID IT SO FLAWLESSLY THAT it's become one of my most played song. now no one can actually live up to my expectations to hip hop than bangtan and i'm so proud and happy because they're gaining the recognition they deserve. ♥

MAMAMOO - MooMoo since November 2014
who was my first bias: solar
who is my current bias: solar
favorite era: um oh ah yeah
most played song by them: um oh ah yeah acapella version and girl crush tbh
how i became a fan: CHANNIE (B1A4). while all the hyungs had solo activities, i was very excited to hear that he was appearing in an MV. lo and behold, the teaser MAMAMOO released was jazzy. i love jazz. and soul. and just the teaser made me a fan. they just debuted that year so they only had so much songs, but i decided to stick to them now. because solar is very, very pretty

(she's a girl crush, i'm not ashamed to admit)

and she has a powerful voice. they kept throwing upbeat jazzy songs and their image as a group wasn't completely sexy (my sister said they were "classy sexy"), i was sold. i hope they get to do at least one variety show soon. it's a good way to get to know them more.

INFINITE - Inspirit since September 2015
who was my first bias: myungsoo
who is my current bias: myungsoo and woohyun
favorite era: bad
most played song by them: eomma, the chaser, cover girl
how i became a fan: CHANNIE (B1A4 AGAIN)!!! if it wasn't for Channie hosting A Song For You, i wouldn't have watched at all. but i'm glad i did because they're one of the best groups ever. they've been through a lot and they deserve everything okay. i was impressed especially since i find out that sungyeol barely had any lines in their songs and here he was, rapping. i searched more and listened to them through Spotify. fell in love with Love Letter and suddenly Nothing's Over - Japanese version played. it was such a dance-able song i searched for a music video, and found and listened to the Korean version. SOLD.

I also find it extremely funny that I already knew Myungsoo (L) since Jiu. You have to know that before I came to KPOP, I started with Johnny's Entertainment (JE: NEWS, Arashi, Kanjani8, Hey!Say!JUMP, Kis-My-Ft2). So all the Japanese dramas and all that. Now, I waited to watch Jiu for Shirota Yu (because of The Prince of Tennis and Hana Kimi), Tabe Mikako (because of Yamada Taro Monogatari and Yasuko to Kenji, both of which had JE idols) and Kuroki Meisa (because of 1 Pound no Fukuin, which also had a JE idol). Apparently, Myungsoo was the title character. I thought he looked good but that the blond was quite fake. I didn't have the patience to wait for further episodes, so I didn't complete it. Then, because of Immortal Song 2: Im Jaebum special (with B1A4's Sandeul, who won that episode ♥), I took note of K.Will. His voice was quite soothing. So I searched for him, and saw Love Blossom, again, with Myungsoo (L) as the male lead. He came out of the car and I thought, 'Oh, he's cute' before completely shoving it to the side again. LMAO that might be why he looked so familiar when I saw him in AS4U. (This is basically a testament to my inability to fall in love because of someone's looks.) It's just really funny, okay.

now, since i missed watching The Red Bullet, i wasn't about to let it go with Infinite Effect. it was actually a tough decision because i had savings for a planned japan trip but i really wanted to watch. and i didn't want to watch it alone. luckily, my sister got curious and ended up liking them enough to consider watching it with me. (she's a hardcore fan now, too, playing The Chaser nonstop to be honest. also wanting to go to Korea when she's never wanted to do so before.) i like myungsoo because yeah, he's good looking AS FUCK, but he's dorky. and nerdy and geeky and very touchy. he's such a baby underneath the "cool and chic" image that's barely there nowadays that i can't let go. this is the first time i've had an introvert as a bias to be honest (sandeul, taehyung and sungjae are definite extroverts. it's not obvious, but yesung and solar are, i think, too). also finding out he loves animanga and his favorite genre is shoujo (and he's read hana kimi, OKAY), that he's a hopeless romantic. it's so different from his looks that it's absolutely refreshing. and then woohyun. woohyun is a great singer, but too greasy and flirty for my taste and i'm personally not comfortable with it (i don't have a problem with it, he can flirt and be greasy all he wants, really). but during Infinite Effect... oh dear Lord. his CHARISMA was all over the place. he shined so brilliantly! and frankly, it was thanks to woohyun and dongwoo's energies that made the concert a lot more fun (everyone seemed tired, though i guess that's a given, but i felt like our concert was just something to get over with. they didn't do much fanservice if any, to be honest. and besides woohyun and dongwoo, none of the members talked during their breaks. i even think sungjong spoke, like, thrice the entire duration of the concert). so he quickly shot up my bias list and now tied with myungsoo at first place.

GOT7 - Ahgase since December 2015
who was my first bias: jaebum
who is my current bias: jinyoung
favorite era: confession song
most played song by them: confession song and so lucky
how i became a fan: Now, GOT7's always been at the corner of my fandom brain. I adore Jaebum's voice, especially in A. Unfortunately (back then), I didn't like Girls Girls Girls or Stop Stop It that much. I only watched Just Right because the color was neat and it reminded me so much of N*Sync's music video and I liked it. It wasn't quite enough for me to be a fan, but it stayed. I listened to Nigahamyeon once and it was catchy, but not quite memorable. I wasn't going to check out Confession Song, but there was a music video posted and it looked interesting. I watched it whole, and BAM!! I considered them more. I listened to their discography and found a few other songs I liked. I also watched their Weeky Idol episodes (always start with Weekly Idol, to be honest). But it wasn't until they released the Confession Song Free Dance Live that I frantically researched about them. So while I adored Jaebum's voice and considered him my "bias" during those times, it was Jinyoung who took the cake. ;ALSJKFLSKDGJJL he looked so pretty during the live that I just couldn't-- so I searched Tumblr blogs and fell in love. And here I am... in the middle of searching for GOT7 videos and variety shows and fanfiction because JINYOUNG GOD DAMN IT.

i can't stop listening to So Lucky now, especially jinyoung's parts. i love family dynamics in KPOP groups and it's even more fun when they acknowledge it. out of all my bias groups, GOT7 establishes it quite solidly. jinyoung even said "i'm your mom!" in a video while jackson and mark sat on his lap, even though he's younger than them both. during the paper passing games, youngjae said that he'd consider it as "a mother's kiss" because he was going to pass it to jinyoung. and after jinyoung and bambam's accident, someone was shouting off frame (it might be either youngjae or yugyeom) that it was a mother's kiss. today, i saw a video of jackson being all gentlemanly and holding jinyoung's hand and guides him down the stage and it was LKDHSAGKJHALKHJDSJH;AH;K I CAN WATCH IT FOREVER. and while i say this as a demisexual, i LOVE how he can just be proud of his butt by saying it's chubby (BUBBLE BUTT) and freaking dances sexily with a straight face. NO WORDS CAN DESCRIBE MY AMUSEMENT OKAY. he looks absolutely amazing during the Confession Dance live too because he looks so young and precious with those big eyes looking up at the camera. asdkjhgakjhglsjdflk

but jaebum's somewhere there. he's still there. might not be as big as jinyoung in my bias list heart, but GOD DAMN HIM DURING THEIR BOUNCE PERFORMANCE IN DALLAS. HE'S SO BUFF AND LOOKS SO DIFFERENT WITH HIS HAIR LIKE THAT. HE LOOKS SO THIN IN HIS CLOTHES AND BESIDE JINYOUNG AND THEN HE WEARS A TIGHT ASS WIFEBEATER AND SHAKES HIS FREAKING HIPS AND _FUCK_----

B.A.P - BABY since February 20, 2016
who was my first bias: youngjae
who is my current bias: daehyun
favorite era: feel so good
most played song by them: crash, feel so good
how i became a fan: i've already listened to them more than once during 2014 when they released "어디니? 뭐하니?"/where are you? what are you doing? but a few days after watching them and deciding to like them, their "scandal" happened. it was sad, the entire process, but i'm glad (and i really hope) everything's settled now. i was actually excited during their "young, wild and free" announcement comebacks. the teasers were good, and the music video was so much fun (but omg what were you wearing daehyun???)!!! but i still got them all confused. i still thought that youngjae was daehyun and that daehyun was youngjae and jongup was junhong and junhong was someone in there. all i could tell was yongguk and himchan. then i was searching through omonatheydidnt and saw that they had a comeback teaser. i was horribly depressed during that time and when i watched the trailer, i was so happy. it was fun, upbeat and very refreshing. daehyun was too cute and the color theme was amazing. i couldn't wait for their comeback, so i even watched their live countdown. XD and now i'm so glad they're back and i'm so proud that they fought together as a group. ♥

Seventeen - CARAT since April 24, 2016
who was my first bias: jihoon, jeonghan, hansol
who is my current bias: soonyoung, jihoon, hansol
favorite era: pretty u
most played song by them: pretty u
how i became a fan: i've always been curious about them, but i was seriously too lazy to learn another boy group that had 13 members (super junior was so tiring okay!). mansae also didn't click when i first watched the music video, so just kept them in a really dark corner. then as i was watching 2015 gayo daejun and they had an electric guitar break when they performed mansae and that, i liked. one day, when i was in the office, i was again, going through a depression episode. i randomly clicked their One Fine Day since i couldn't really finish GFriend, and i had B1A4's at home. i was also curious because i thought it was One Fine Day that they had confessions (apparently, it was in My Friend's Island) so i randomly clicked on episode 1. fuck i fell in love. all of them were entertaining, but that was mostly probably because of how the producers formatted the show. they literally threw them away in an island to fend for themselves and their persistence (though through complaints) was what hooked me. i started learning about them. luckily, they were also about to have a comeback. i've seen teaser pictures in omonatheydidnt. i also listened through their song highlights and my jaw dropped during "유행가" and "예쁘다" was fun to listen to. i also liked "Say Yes" so i decided to watch for their MV. i was in Japan at the time when the MV released and i watched the music video. i fell in love with the music. it was cute, upbeat, memorable. didn't like the MV that much because it felt too much like Run, so i waited for a performance. then their showcase performance popped up and WHAM BAM THANK YOU MA'AM, i'm hooked. to this day, i still can't stop listening to 예쁘다 on repeat. #noregrets

i think i've ranted enough... (or else i won't be able to get anything done)
