The business environment's dynamism has elevated business leaders' stress levels to pursue good core competency. Soft skills are environmentally advantageous as skills such as team building, work ethic, creativity & problem-solving are empowering across all industrial roles. Conversely, the defining characteristics of the technology are represented by the changes it undergoes. Relevant hard skills today could be irrelevant tomorrow. The study aims to determine the strength of soft skills as part of the competitive advantage framework. A successful organisation was involved in the study, whereas the respondents of the study were 110 executives. The findings found that soft skills, such as emotional intelligence and organisational citizenship behaviour, play a critical role in improving the organisation's competitive advantage and achieving a more robust performance.

Many countries’ government has issued lockdown orders to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus. This lockdown has created a new norm for society. The workforce is now more diverse, not only in terms of age but also of nationality. Globalization has made the world boundaryless and people are now mobile. Organizations require its employees to be more committed as well as to have a better cohesive working interrelationship. Emotional Intelligence is the ability to sense, understand and effectively apply the power and acumen of emotions as a source of human energy, information, connection and influence. Spiritual intelligence is the set of abilities that individuals use to apply, manifest and embody spiritual resources, values and qualities in ways that enhance their daily functioning and well-being. With both these intelligences happening in the workplace, the environment will be more conducive. A better working environment relates to a higher level of productivity.

In general micro enterprise entrepreneurs face financial difficulties particularly during the start up. A large number of micro enterprises have yet to tap into the funds provided by the banks. Only 13% thus far have successfully received this funding. This huge gap poses a question mark and triggers the need to conduct a study. While there are many programmes provided by the government, the rigidity of the procedures hampers the smooth success of the programmes.
