Background: Regional anesthesia techniques as a caudal epidural block (CEB) are commonly used to ... more Background: Regional anesthesia techniques as a caudal epidural block (CEB) are commonly used to help with pain control during pediatric surgeries, decrease parenteral analgesics requirement, and improve the quality of postoperative pain control and general satisfaction of patient parents. Transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block is an evolving modality of regional anesthetic techniques for the abdominal wall. Objective: The aim of the current study was to compare the analgesic effect of CEB versus TAP block in pediatrics undergoing infraumblical surgeries. Patients and methods: A total of 120 kids between the ages of 4 and 7 years old who needed infraumbilical procedures were divided into two groups of 60 patients. Group (1) received caudal epidural block using Plain bupivacaine 0.25 % 1 ml/kg, and Group (2) received ultrasound-guided TAP block using plain bupivacaine 0.25% 1 ml/kg. Follow up postoperative pain using Faces Pain Scale-Revised, vital signs, first rescue analgesia, the total dose of paracetamol needed, and complications. Results: At 8 and 18 hours postoperatively, Group (1) had substantially lower pain scores on the Faces pain scale-revised, reduced heart rate and mean arterial pressure compared to Group (2). Group (1) had a considerably later time to first rescue analgesia with less paracetamol use than Group (2). There was no discernible difference in postoperative complications between groups (1) and (2). Conclusion: At 6-24 hours after block placement, caudal block provides superior analgesia compared to TAP block in children undergoing lower abdominal surgeries. Caudal block is an effective, feasible, and safe option for postoperative analgesia, especially when compared to TAP block.

To this end, theoretical and experimental investigations of microwave oscillating system for outer-space applications were carried out. Radiation effects on the transient parameters and electrical properties of the proposed devices have been studied in detail with the application of computer programming. Also, the oscillation parameters, power characteristics, and bias current were plotted under the influence of different g and neutron irradiation levels. Finally, shelf or oven annealing processes were shown to be satisfactory techniques to recover the initial characteristics of the irradiated devices.

To this end, theoretical and experimental investigations of microwave oscillating system for outer-space applications were carried out. Radiation effects on the transient parameters and electrical properties of the proposed devices have been studied in detail with the application of computer programming. Also, the oscillation parameters, power characteristics, and bias current were plotted under the influence of different g and neutron irradiation levels. Finally, shelf or oven annealing processes were shown to be satisfactory techniques to recover the initial characteristics of the irradiated devices.

We present a novel order dispatch algorithm in large-scale on-demand ride-hailing platforms. Whil... more We present a novel order dispatch algorithm in large-scale on-demand ride-hailing platforms. While traditional order dispatch approaches usually focus on immediate customer satisfaction, the proposed algorithm is designed to provide a more efficient way to optimize resource utilization and user experience in a global and more farsighted view. In particular, we model order dispatch as a large-scale sequential decision-making problem, where the decision of assigning an order to a driver is determined by a centralized algorithm in a coordinated way. The problem is solved in a learning and planning manner: 1) based on historical data, we first summarize demand and supply patterns into a spatiotemporal quantization, each of which indicates the expected value of a driver being in a particular state; 2) a planning step is conducted in real-time, where each driver-order-pair is valued in consideration of both immediate rewards and future gains, and then dispatch is solved using a combinatorial optimizing algorithm. Through extensive offline experiments and online AB tests, the proposed approach delivers remarkable improvement on the platform's efficiency and has been successfully deployed in the production system of Didi Chuxing.

Using the NX10.0 software, parametric design of cycloidal gear profile curve was carried out, and the radius of curvature with the contour curve of cycloid gear was analyzed. The consistency between the simulation results and the theoretical design results was verified by assembly analysis, and the parametric drive of the cycloidal gear was verified simultaneously.

In this concern, it can be applied to directly detect the target style of mineralization through measuring its physical properties directly. Also, one may measure the electrical conductivity difference between conductive sulfide minerals and the resistive silicate host rock. In this paper, improvement of the switching characteristics of DC-DC boost converters based on po... more In this paper, improvement of the switching characteristics of DC-DC boost converters based on power bipolar junction transistor (BJT) against excessive rise rates of voltage (dv/dt) or current (di/dt) was investigated. Here, it was proven that, in the normal operation of the boost converter (for free running devices), signal voltage across the switch resonates at parasitic ringing frequency of 1.14 MHz during turn-off. Also, ringing signal frequency of 89.0 kHz superimposed the output current waveform was noticed during turn-on mode of operation. Thus, the paper was devoted in the design, analysis and applications of dissipative voltage and current – snubber circuits, as a trial to improve such systems. From which, it is shown that the snubber circuits successfully improve the noticed problems, where for the first case (dv/dt), the ringing frequency was decreased down to 0.20 MHz, while for the second case (di/dt), the ringing frequency was completely damped.

The hierarchy of these values is based on reflections of the „philosopher on the throne” included in his Meditations. In the first part a respect of the emperor was portrayed towards the visible world and the laws of nature which are ruling it. Next an importance of the virtue was emphasized in the view of the author of Meditations as well as how significant was the fulfilment of everyday social duties. In the last part a fundamental role of the mind and the internal leader-demon was described. The reaction of active phosphacumulenes with xanthenones and anthrone yields xanthene(anthracene)... more The reaction of active phosphacumulenes with xanthenones and anthrone yields xanthene(anthracene)- and/or phosphoranylidene xanthene(anthracene)- depending upon the nature of reactants and reaction conditions. Pertinent reaction mechanisms were considered and compatible spectroscopic measurements were recorded for all new compounds. The cytotoxic activity of some new products was evaluated against human cervical and breast carcinoma cell lines. Certain tested compounds showed promising results.Graphical abstract

The reaction of Hg2+,Cd2+,Co2+, and Ni2+ ions with 1 mol of the ligands 2-methylquinoline-4-ol,3[... more The reaction of Hg2+,Cd2+,Co2+, and Ni2+ ions with 1 mol of the ligands 2-methylquinoline-4-ol,3[(diethylamino)methyl]-2-methylquinoline-4-ol, and methyl-3-(4-hyrdoxy-2-methylquinoline-3-yl)-2-(triphenylphosphoranylidene)propanoate, has been investigated to give the corresponding 1:1 metal:ligand complexes. Reaction of 2 mol of the ligand gave the corresponding 1:2 metal:ligand complexes. The coordination takes place only through the quinoline nitrogen atom. The spectroscopic and the physicochemical data of the new metal complexes are discussed.
