Aim: This study aimed to clarify Ki-67 expression level and its correlation with p53 expression in HL and NHL. Material and methods: total of 28 newly diagnosed HL and NHL patients were investigated for Ki-67 expression and its correlation to p53 expression by immunohistochemical technique. Results: Ki-67 expression was observed in 46.7 % of HL patients while 7.7% of NHL patients gave positive Ki-67 expression. A significant Association between thetype of lymphoma and Ki67 expression (p<0.05) noticed. The histopathologcal type appeared to be 57.1% mixed cellularity and 37.5% of them showed positive Ki67 expression , while 42.9 % were intermediate grade and only 16.7 % showed positive Ki67 expression. There were no significant correlation between the histopathologcal type and Ki67 expression. only 4 (14.3 %) of the cases were p53 negative ,while the rest 24 cases were p53 positive ,and the majority (66.7%) were within score 2. Eight cases (28.6 %) were positive for Ki-67 and p53 , Ki-67 was negative in 71.4% cases , and four of them were negative for p53 and the rest 16 (80%)cases were p53 positive .A significant correlation was found between p53 and Ki-67 expression where(r=0.608,p=0.001). conclusion : it is suggested that immunohistochemical studies of p53 and Ki-67 expression in tumor tissue including HL and NHL can help in monitoring of patients at risk, and the markers may aid in controlling the progression of lymphoma and detect the degree of aggressiveness of the disease to give suitable treatment and management of patients .

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of pomegranate peel extract, vitamin C, combination of pomegranate peel extract and vitamin C & gemifloxacin on adhesion of E.coli to uroepithelial cells. Methods: Uroepithelial cells were incubated with E. coli ATCC 25922 bacteria previously exposed to either the aqueous extract of pomegranate peel (AEPP), vitamin C, combination of both or gemifloxacin and the adherence was assessed by light microscopy. Results: AEPP showed good antibacterial activity with minimum inhibitory concentration MIC of 25μg/ml and 10 mmol/ml for vitamin C and upon combination, the MIC was10µg/ml &5mmol/ml for AEPP & vitamin C respectively whereas for gemifloxacin was 0.03μg/ml. In vitro and in vivo adhesion of E.coli to uroepithelial cells were significantly inhibited by AEPP, vitamin C alone and in combination and by gemifloxacin. Conclusion: AEPP showed good antibacterial activity, inhibited E.coli adhesion to uroepithelial cells and were potentiated by vitamin C.

Many types of cells express Gal-9, moreover have variety of biological role. The present study was carried out to evaluate the immuno-expression of Gal-9 in two micro-environments, intra-tumoral and stromal, in breast cancer patients. The findings were correlated with the molecular subtypes and clinical groups. Sixty-one cases as patients group and seven have been selected as normal group for the study. Immunohistochemistry was used to evaluate the expression of ER, PR, Her2\\neu and Gal- 9. ER, PR and Her2\\neu were used for the molecular subtyping. Gal-9 assessed by H-SCORE system in two locations (intratumoral and stromal). Expression of Gal-9 shows high significant differences between the intratumoral and stromal expression scores (p ≤ 0.001) and shows no significant differences among molecular and clinical group. These findings may consider rational if we knew that Gal-9 exerting many functions.

The present process included coupling of OMCl with diazotized sulphanilic acid reagent in the presence of sodium hydroxide. The orange colored azo dye formed very stable and soluble in water gives maximum absorption at 496 nm. The lineratey is obeyed over the range 20-400 g / 25 ml (0.8-16µg.ml-1) the molar absorptivity is equate to 2.30  10 4 l.mol-1 cm-1. The proposed method has been used to the determination of OMCl in two formulations with satisfactories results.

Objective: To find out whether there is a relation between the pathology of RPL and the expression of intracellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) and ICAM-3 at the feto-maternal interface in these patients. Methods: Immunohistochemistry technique was performed to detect and determine the expression of ICAM-1 and ICAM-3 using paraffin embedded sections of curate samples obtained from 40 women, who where divided into three groups: 24 women with RPL, 10 women with abortion for the first time, and 6 women with induced abortion.

Diagnosis of M. pneumoniae infection is challenging and crucial for the timely initiation of the effective antibiotic therapy. Objective: This study has been undertaken to detect M. pneumoniae in respiratory samples (throat swabs, throat wash and sputum) in patients with respiratory tract infection qualitatively by conventional polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Also, more advanced one, real time PCR was used to determine mycoplasmal target gene qualitatively and quantitatively. Patients and methods: The study was performed on Seventy-five patients and thirty healthy subject as control. Genomic DNA was extracted and M. pneumoniae target gene (lipoprotein gene) was amplified using conventional PCR. Negative, positive controls and internal controls were involved in each experimental run. The amplified products were analyzed in 2% agarose gel and visualized using Red saf...

Interleukin-8 is proinflammatory cytokine plays as major human PMN chemo-attractant. Objective: This study investigated the association between expressions of CagA cytotoxin and interleukin-8 on the gastric epithelial cells in patients with Helicobacter pylori gastric illness by using In Situ Hybridization technique. Methods: Paraffin embedded tissue had been made form biopsies taken from 30 patients undergo O.G.D. and selected according to exclusion criteria. In addition 10 apparently healthy volunteers were included as a control group. Results: Significant positive linear relationship (Pearson correlation Coefficient=0.452, p=0. 012) was found between CagA positivity and interleukin-8 expression. Conclusions: This study conclude that infection with CagA positive H. pylori strains led to high levels of interleukin-8 production from the gastric epithelium.

which introduced to inside the gastric mucosal cells. CagA induce upregulation of p53 expression whereas, it plays as pro-apoptotic factor.
Bcl-2 protein is one of the most important members of the family of
anti-apoptosis, hence we aimed to investigate the association between
CagA and Bcl-2. Paraffin embedded sections of gastric tissue from
thirty patients had been included in this study. In addition, 10
apparently healthy volunteers as a control group. Procedure of In Situ
Hybridization was carried out to detect the CagA cytotoxin and
immunohistochemistry to evaluate the expression of Bcl-2. In patients
group 24/30 cases of patients group gave a moderate staining, 5/30
cases gave substantial staining and only 1/30 cases gave slight
staining. the immunoexpression of Bcl-2 in CagA negative cases
(mean 44.706± 3.952 S.E.) was higher than that of CagA positive
cases (mean 40.267± 1.476 S.E.). The CagA positive strain of H.
pylori induce down-regulation of Bcl-2.
