There is no doubt whatsoever; that there is strong growth in the Tourism sector in Sri Lanka.

Real estate is commonly known to be more of an asset than an investment. However in Sri Lanka, it... more Real estate is commonly known to be more of an asset than an investment.
However in Sri Lanka, it is progressively becoming a viable long term investment, given the recent appreciation rates of property and lands; especially in Colombo and suburbs.
For instance, land prices in Colombo have appreciated rapidly in the last four years. With prime land parcels in Colombo 1 and 2 being offered at Rs. 8-9 million per perch and above 10.0 million per perch in some locations, construction of offices and resident spaces in the core of the city would imply a high rental expectation. Land in suburban locations is also expensive, and is available at Rs. 4-5 million per perch.
In this backdrop ‘Leapfrogging’ seems to be an attractive and innovative investment that would present pronounced returns in the longer term. Leapfrogging is the phenomenon of developing real estate at locations further away from the city, where land prices are still comparatively

This technology is in use in Canada very successfully for over 25 years and the engineers of the Canadian technology provider visited a number of potential sites in Sri Lanka and decided to do the Project at this location on the Elahera EMYE (Elahera Miinneriya Yodha Ela) Intake, in the Polonnaruwa District in Elahera Divisional Secretariat division.

This technology is in use in Canada very successfully for over 25 years and the engineers of the Canadian technology provider visited a number of potential sites in Sri Lanka and decided to do the Pilot Project at this location on the Ulhitiya Canal Branch 2 (Drop 1), in the Ampara District in Dehiattakandiya Divisional Secretariat division.

The project aims to promote development of clean and renewable energy sources for public utilization using innovative and patented Canadian Eco Siphon Hydro Technology. The proposed hydroelectric plant will consist of Eco Siphon Hydro Power Station, Power House and the Transmission line. The Project involves no new water diversion or water storage and does not modify the timing of water diversion or storage within the canal in any way.
