Anyone out there?

Breathing life into a dead community? Why not. It's late, I'm tired, and I was recently reminded of this comm.
There are a few things on my mind.
First: What do you all think of DH? Specifically, where Sirius's bike was (with Hagrid) and how it ended up (completely crashed, then possibly rebuilt by Mr. Weasley). I'm glad JKR mentioned the bike was Sirius's, but it seemed almost to disregard Sirius entirely. If I were Harry, learning that the recently totalled bike was my recently deceased godfather's might spark a bit of a reaction at least.
Second: What do you think Sirius named the bike? I ask this because I'm (potentially) writing a fic with it, and I'm not sure what to call her. I have no doubts that the bike's a she. I just (perhaps) need a name.
Speaking of writing a fic, I'll be ignoring DH for it. It'll involve some Remus/Harry bonding time that was so tragically ignored in the books.
To make everyone happy, I have a rec as well.

Hello, motorbikeslashers,
I don't know if many of you follow shoebox_project, but it does indeed feature Sirius' motorbike in a supporting role, often referred to as "The Vibrator". (Ha.)
The community jukebox_project is for Shoeboxy fanmixes, and they have monthly themed challenges. This month's themed challenge is a soundtrack featuring the motorbike!
My purpose is twofold:
1. Participate by nominating songs that remind you of the special R/S/motorbike love, and later on, voting on which nominations should be included, because the challenge just requests motorbike or road songs, not anything in particular about the inevitable OT3ness.
2. Benefit by getting an album of Motorbike music at the end of the month!

I am SO tormented about what I'll nominate. Someone else already sensibly nominated Arlo Guthrie's Motorbike Song, which is good.
I'm currently thinking:
- "I Wanna Hop On Your Harley" by Anne Rabson, who totally sounds like she might be a drag queen, though she isn't. This is the most blatantly "Motorbikes are Hot!" song I've found, so I'm willing to overlook that Sirius would so not have a Harley.

- "Little Honda" by the Hondells. While it's not that slashy, it's got a couple of good innuendo-ish lines, because really, it's hard not to when you're talking about motorcycles.

My daddy rides a Honda from the seventies, quite like what Sirius' options in the Honda line might be if there were any chance in hell that Sirius would have a Honda. It's a really nice bike, and you do, in fact, meet the nicest people on a Honda.
The third song... I don't know? Motorbikin' by Billy Idol?
Then there's also M-bike by PJ Harvey? I suspect it's sadly quite true to Shoebox!Remus' objection to the motorbike, which I personally don't really buy, because RL/SB/MB = OT3!
Aaah, so many choices!!

Hi everyone! Been a while, hasn't it? I've been trudging through R/S fics lately, and took a note whenever I stumbled upon some bike!fic. Here are the results, just in time to brighten your weeks. Enjoy!
FICS
Summary: "Come on, drive a little, nothing is forever. It's got to be something better than in the middle."
There isn’t much plot here, and the writing could possibly be a bit better. However, Maple Tide does a great job exploring what Remus must have felt after Sirius was taken to Azkaban. It’s cool because the bike is part of his grieving process.
Summary: Horny wizards, flying motorbikes, silly songs...
Ok let’s see if I can make this as appealing as it should sound… The initial use of the bike could be described as foreplay. There’s a twist in the middle that’s delicious. My only regret is that Luna kept it PG-13. Would have made a great R.
Summary: Sirius is a little too fond of his bike. Remus is a little too jealous.
The author says it all: For poufywerewolf, who requested top!Remus/Sirius, on/against Sirius' motorcycle (not in motion or in air, but can be on), oral (Sirius is the giver); Sirius bent over the bike. Kinky is good; chaps optional [no chaps, sorry!]. Remus talks dirty calling Sirius slutty/eager; humiliation. Hair pulling. ::MELTS:: Totally NC-17
Summary**:** Sirius’ motorbiking leathers pique Remus’ interest.
Ok so this one weaseled its way onto the list. No motorbike exactly, but the buying of the motorbike (and subsequent leathers) starts the sexual tension. Yummy NC-17
Sirius must apologize to Remus. Then there’s sex on the bike. Another NC-17.
Summary: "He’s only ever loved males before – one male, to be exact. Still loves him, but now she’s the one who takes his breath away." PG-13/light R for implications
This was written for one of the Sirius/Remus Fuh-Q-Fest Challenge #6: Joining the "mile high club" (either on the motorcycle or a broom). You get the idea.

I was inspired by the recent rec post by oddbobs (also the first post NOT BY ME to this community)... so here we are, recommendations to couple of fics I've been meaning to share here for a very long time.
Motorbike Dreams by franticbabbles.
This story is absolutely fantastic in using the motorbike as a central feature in chronicling Remus' relationship to Sirius. Poignant and beautifully written, this story is gutwrenching in a quiet, understated sort of way. Also, in addition to crushing your soul, it is also sexy in the middle! I often shy away from angst, but you really shouldn't in this case, because it's just so incredibly evocative and real. It's a must-read that demonstrates that the motorbike can be implemented in stories to effect angst as well as smut.
Fallen, Alternate Version by CLS.
Sequel to Black Shadow which is non-slashy but features the start of the beautiful relationship between Sirius and his bike. In this, the NC-17 slashy version of the sequel, Remus gets added on to the relationship... and that is definitely the way it should be!! These stories feature particularly detailed research and very creative ideas on what kind of motorbike Sirius would have -- I definitely buy it!
The Gift by Siryn.
Sirius trusts Remus enough to give him the keys to his motorbike. If that's not love, I don't know what is. And, of course, it's also smut, because Remus + Sirius + Motorbike = OT3. Particularly nice because it's the first fic I've read where Remus wants to take the bike for a spin, and come on, you know that's hot.
