MOULTRIE — Colquitt County players can sign up for the Georgia Park and Recreation Association’s district tennis tournaments for juniors.
The district tournament will be held June 29-30 in Bainbridge.
Singles, doubles and mixed doubles will be held in 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U.
The top four finishers in each age group at the district tournament will qualify for the state tournament that will be held July 15-16 in Hazlehurst.
Those interested in playing can contact the Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Authority 668-0028 or Lynda Moseley at 589-1286 by June 17.
Of this and that:
• Colquitt County soccer player Navi Rodriguez has committed to continue his career at Thomas University.
• The Jay Ward Youth Football Camp will be held from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, June 13, at the Ray Goff-Virgil Seay Facility at the high school.
The camp is free and is open to youngsters from kindergarten through eighth-grade.

Ward is a former Colquitt County Packer and LSU Tiger defensive back who currently plays for the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings.
• Also on June 13, the Fitzgerald All American Kicking Camp will be held from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Tom White Field at Mack Tharpe Stadium. Check-in begins at 9 a.m.
Conducting the camp will be the two Fitzgerald brothers who were kickers for Colquitt County High School.
Ryan Fitzgerald hold several Georgia high school kicking records and was named a high school All-American while at Colquitt County.
He also was an All-American at Florida State University and is now a kicker for the NFL’s Carolina Panthers.
Brett Fitzgerald was a three-time All-American kicker at Colquitt County and holds several records.
He is currently kicking for Valdosta State.
Also instructing at the camp will be Colquitt County’s two-time All-Region 1-6A snapper Will Tapscott.

• The Colquitt County High girls softball team is preparing for the 2026 season and will play host to the Vereen Tournament on June 23-24. The Lady Packers also will compete at the FCA camp in July.
• The Colquitt County girls soccer team, under new head coach Rilee Miller, will play host to Thomas County Central at 5 p.m. on June 22 and on July 27 and will travel to meet Lee County on June 25 and play host to the Lady Trojans on July 16.
• The Colquitt County wrestling team will attend camps at Brewton-Parker and Camden County and will compete in tournaments at Buford and South Forsyth this summer.
