You make icons of shows you don't watch? Oh, that's new ;) But I like it ;)
And you should watch Leverage. The show is great and the characters are fun.
I pretty much only make icons for icontests these days. A few of them are "general" icontests, rather than show specific, so sometimes I'll make icons of a show I don't watch. The Leverage icons were part of a "special" challenge in which I was assigned Bones (which I watch, but don't tend to icon) and Leverage, which I've never seen (hence the promotional photos). I just entered the latest 
tv_icontests challenge for Numb3rs even though I've only seen 1 episode because I like the mod and they were desperate for entries.
I keep thinking I should watch Leverage. The show seems right up my alley, as I like the "fun" crime shows. The problem is that I'm already watching so many shows and have so many more lined up on my Netflix queue, so it is tough to squeeze another show in, especially one in which I need to catch up on past episodes.

I ♥ Miss Parker so much! I wish The Pretender had a bigger online fandom. There was an icontest for all of like 3 weeks, so I got to make a few icons for that awhile ago, but then it stopped. :( I'm also sad that they never got to finish the story. There was supposed to be one more television movie, but it never happened.

The Pretender was so much time ago... I didn't know about "fandom" when I watched it. Actually, I didn't know much english... I watched the first two seasons in spanish. Then, I recorded season 4 from NBC and then I watched with CC and my dictionary...
I want to know the end too!! I loved the second movie, and I was so pissed off they never made the third one!!
I was not a part of The Pretender fandom back when it aired. Back then, my only involvement in fandom was mailing lists for Highlander and Star Trek: The Next Generation. I started reading fanfiction back in 2002/2003, which was well after The Pretender had ended.
I'm always very impressed when people can watch shows in a foreign language. I do so much better following French (my only foreign language) in writing* than in spoken conversation. Usually I end up thinking "Wait, what was that word?" and by the time I've figured it out, the conversation is well beyond that point and I'm entirely lost.
There have been rumors off and on over the years that the third movie might get made, but I'm not holding my breath. While I would love to watch the movie, I wish that they would even release a script or summary or something, just so I could find out how it was supposed to end.
*Not that I am that great at following written French anymore, as it has been 16 years since I actively followed the language, more time than I studied it (12 years).
Well, to learn english is a necesity in my country, like... everywhere I guess. It was hard at that time. I was 13 years old when I watched The Pretender that way... I kept practicing my english with other tv shows, but I still have problems... for example in NCIS, Gibbs is hard to understand, also Tony, when he speaks too fast!! And Abby!! Ziva is the easiest for me, probably because she uses less contractions and well, english is not her first language either, so that may help!
But well, about The Pretender, yes!! I want to know the end! I'm convinced we're not going to watch the third movie ever... but I want to know what was supossed to happen in it!!
You'd probably have a problem with me, as I speak really, really fast. (Like fast enough that sometimes native English speakers say I speak too quickly. *grin*) Even if learning a second language is a necessity, I find it very impressive. I teach, and usually about 1/4 to 1/3 of my children in my class speak a language other than English at home. This year, of my 12 kids, I have 2 Chinese children, an Indian child, and a French child.
I agree completely. I've read some fanfic that has gone on from the second movie, but it isn't the same.
I'm a really fast speaker myself!! Did you watch Cote's interviews? She talks so fast, moving her hands, touching people, laughing and speaking at the same time... well, I'm just like her, but in Spanish and double fast XDDDDDD

I haven't read The Pretender fanfiction... I find really difficult to believe that someone could actually write GOOD to Miss Parker!!!
I don't tend to watch interviews because I've been burned before, disliking actors enough that it affects my enjoyment of the show. That sounds like how I talk, though!
I know English, a little French, and a little American Sign Language. (My level of the last two is probably preschool age; although, I used to be fairly decent at French at one point, having started learning it in Kindergarten.)

Unfortunately, two of the sites I had bookmarked (one of which was a Pretender fic awards site) were on Geocities, which closed down. Thus, I can't access anything on there anymore. :(
Crap. Now I'm desiring Pretender fic! Oh well. My alarm is going off in 2 1/2 hours, so I need to get off to bed anyway.
Oh, that's a good reason for not watch them!! I watch them and translate them to my ncis Spanish community. It's all a challange!!
Actually, Costa Rican Sign Language (LESCO) has a lot of similarities with the American one!!

I know enough sign to communicate the basics with kids that use sign. It works well for pre-verbal kids. I couldn't hold a real conversation, though.
I wish I could recommend more. The problem with older fandoms is that they pretty much were over by the time LJ and other communities came about. It makes me sad, because I would have loved to be a part of a vibrant community for some of the older shows.

Wow, I don't think I've been found via Google before. I'm glad you liked some of the icons. If you're looking for more, I'd recommend two communities. One, ncis_icons, where you can find a bunch of great icons of all characters. The other, ncis20in20 is more for if you want icons of a specific character/pairing. For each round there, people pick a character/pairing and then make 20 icons of them. Thus, you can sometimes find a lot of icons to choose from.
