Did You Know?
Jack Cristil’s parents, Mollie Kabakoff of Minsk, Russia, and Benjamin Cristil, of Riga, Latvia, met and married in 1915 in Clarksdale, MS. Cristil was hired at State by fellow Hall of Famer Dudy Noble. Cristil said Noble gave him the job and then told him, “You tell that radio audience what the score is and who’s got the ball and how much time is left and you cut out the bull. Best advice I ever got.”
