The researcher holds faith in continent’s youth in the transformative process as they are the equitable “human resource “of this time. Going back in history, Africa was enslaved and later on colonized but today the situation of yester year is no longer as it was. Remarkably, this change was a product of the youth in the yester year who fought slavery and colonization. Be that as it may, that generation of African heroes has either passed on or aged and weary, while Africa today, suffers from neo-slavery and neo-colonization which require a different mindset. Harnessing and utilizing the
youth well, will ensure dominance through political, economic, environmental, social and technological development in Africa.

The research evaluates the impact of politics to the youth and the development of the nation. Understanding the history of youth political empowerment is fundamental following the implementation of Nation Youth Policy in 2000 which led to the establishment of the Boarder Gezi Youth Training Centre. The Boarder Gezi initiative failed mainly to two factors i.e. it used a military philosophy of imposing itself to the youth and also the majority of the youth lacked the willingness to be involved in a military kind of orientation. The researcher then evaluates the inter-relationship of youth empowerment, politics and development to ensure the importance of sustainable youth political empowerment policies. However, the reviewing of the National Youth Policy in 2010 gives provision to analyze the policies, programs and even events from 2010-2017, role of policy actors specifically CSOs and why the youth have remained in the shadows of politics. Overall, the research provides recommendations and possible solutions to various institutions involved in policy making and the youth in order to improve the visibility and activeness of Zimbabwean youth in mainstream politics.

A research conducted in Chegutu revealed severe maltreatment of street children with rampant sexual abuse cases unreported. The perpetrators taking advantage of the street children's lack of decent livelihoods, care and protection influenced by their previous backgrounds and drug abuse. The government of Zimbabwe adopted various legal and policy frameworks to cater for the welfare and protection of children such as the Children Act, victim friendly system, social protection of orphans and vulnerable children among others. The Zimbabwean constitution like the aforementioned frameworks are guided by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child yet they remain ineffective to the plight of street children. The qualitative research was informed by systematic observation, informal conversations and desk research; explored using the narratives analysis approach. The study recommends inclusive child support system and frameworks reviews.
