The existing SAMs, the capacity of the sewing line for various operations, and several required machines were collected. Moreover, the obtained figures were observed and analyzed by using time study and motion study, and certain improvements were made at the sewing line. Results indicated that SAMs for operations A and B were minimized by -13.64% and -14.54% respectively; whereas, SAM for operation C was increased by 16.67%. Machine requirement for operation C was increased by 100%; moreover, the capacity for operations A, B, and C was increased by 12%, 12.69%, and 40% respectively. Both physical and psychosocial may have an influence, although the task does not involve high force exertion. Experimental study was carried out to look at possible interaction between physical and psychosocial risk factors. Statistical analysis showed that pace of work as psychosocial risk factor significantly affect stress scores, fatigue scores, pain and discomfort scores. It could therefore be concluded that this particular psychosocial risk factor had substantial effect on both subjective and objective initial body responses and could disturb the internal state of the body

Foot orthosis is custommade device applied to patients suffering form foot problem, congenital defects and diseases including arthritis and diabetes. A study was carried out to identify non-value added activities using value stream mapping in a fast moving consumer goods processing industry “Colgate Palmolive (Pakistan) Ltd. Kotri plant”. Colgate is one of the leading manufacturers of consumer goods in Pakistan. Goods mainly include tooth paste, soup, and detergents. Initially, a current value stream map was developed for each process from receiving raw material to final dispatch. Time study was conducted and the data was analyzed. Non-value added activities (which included defects, waiting time, over production and excess motion) were identified, and were highlighted on the future state value stream map. In proposed composite, the graphene is added to grid material of lead acid battery to increase battery life cycle, performance, charge acceptance rate. Four lead-graphene composite specimen of different composition are developed, for performing the series of tests to analyze charge acceptance rate. of lead acid battery. The graphene and lead are used with different percentage ratios, a good percentage of the graphene is found between the 0.5% to 2.0%. Experimental result shows the effectiveness of composites prepared. The results obtained also compare with the spongy lead which is being normally used in lead acid batteries.

This study explores the opportunities to increase the product safety by analyzing the performance of suppliers and production-distribution system. More precisely, this research analyzes the impact of suppliers’ performance on overall profit of supply chain and impact of increasing consumer safety on total profit of supply chain. The novelty of this study is the development of integrated supplier selection and production-distribution model considering consumer risk and product safety. The proposed model is a grey multiobjective model which considers imprecise information as grey parameters. Furthermore, a novel grey-weighted ε-constrained (GWECON) method is developed to solve the proposed multiobjective model.

A particular objective of the study was to investigate whether physical and cognitive demands may interact in their influences on these effects. An assembly task was simulated in the laboratory and the level of pacing imposed, work height and memory load within the task were all varied. The results showed that the type of pacing commonly imposed (as is common with a lean manufacturing Takt time system in industry) can significantly affect both performance and perceived workload and stress. Physical demands (through work height affecting posture) and mental demand (through memory load) were also found to have significant effects, as would be expected from the many studies of these in the literature. The aim of this study is to identify and rank the major critical success factors (CSFs) that will affect GLSS practices implementation in Pakistani SMEs .List of sixteen CSFs is developed based on the available literature and with the consultation of experts. Structured interviews are conducted from the academic and field experts to collect the data. Later on, data is statistically analyzed to rank the CSFs of GLSS implementation in SMEs.
