Salutations, the Muses of Fate have chosen you...
I am the Seer of Abodea, and last of the Bastet. I bid welcome to my home, and it is now yours. I have not found a way back, and if there is, I wish you the best of luck.
However, the spirits tell me there is no such way, until the war in heaven is over. Until then, we are trapped here, awaiting their blessing upon us, forever being used as their pawns.
I sincerely hope that the transition is as easy for you, as it was for me...
~The Abodean Seer
Welcome to muses_of_fate, a roleplaying community!
This community takes place on one main battlefield, the new homeplanet, Abodea. Abodea is a fantasy world, full of everything you read about in any text that deals with fantasy, folklore, mythology and fairy tales. However, the world is in chaos, and we need your help to calm the Gods.
That's where you come in. You can either join in on a new mission as a cadet from the post apocolytic Earth, looking for your old classmates in Abodea, or you can join as an old cadet member, changed by the Gods to fight in their war.
Your goal is to essentially find the lost cadets on this new planet, and calm the Divine Host's rage, so that you may return home once again.
Some Background is as follows:
In post-apocolyptic Earth, the resources are all used up, and the planet is over populated.
In desperation, science has found a way to teleport to new worlds, looking for new homeworlds to reside on. Neighboring planets have proven uninhabitable, and teleportation through portals (think Stargate) have been used in order to find a new home.
Enter the Crystal Dome Military Academy of Science and Research. The Academy specializes in training explorers for new homeworld research. They are the only pioneers in portal research to have found new planets, however none have been livable by any means, until Abodea was found.
They have sent several promising young soldiers and scientists to the new planet, and none have yet returned or transmitted back that they were alive and well or if additional aid was needed, or even the worst, anihilation.
Who yah gonna be?
You, as a player, can be one of two types of characters.
An Academy member, or one of the Pawns.
As an Academy member, you will start in the post apocolyptic Earth and start anew, as a human being. You will have to find yourself a *specialty* amoungst the cadet ranks, to ensure survival. You will have yourself equipped with the appropriate provisions, and have basic combat experience, unless combat is what you specialize in.
As one of the Pawns, You are one of the old Cadets that were left here in the old world. However, you don't know that. You are something else. Your being has been transformed by the gods themselves, resembling denizens of the planet.
Remember, this planet is inhabited by all manners of creatures that you can become. If you want to become one of the pawns, just look in any mythology, folktale and or fairy tale book, and find something there. All manners of creatures will be accepted. You can also play as one of the Holy warriors, or, one of the dark denizens.
A sample listing of creatures:
naga
troll
dwarf
satyrs/fawns
salamanders
fairies
sylphs
undines
knights
cat people
were wolves
vampires
mermaids
selkies
angels
demons
spirit foxes
yeti
witch
wizard
The list can go on and on...
Oh yeah! one last thing, EVERYONE needs to figure out what they become. The transformation may not be overnight, it may not happen for years, but eventually, wou WILL become something of that world. (hey, you can be human, but remember a mythological human)
Rules:
* No godly characters. There are gods, you are their pawns. No super powered characters. you can have special abilities and have magic spells and wield weapons with power, but NO GOD POWER.
*Which also means, NO MODING. What that means, is that if someome makes an attack, you either take it or barely miss with a scratch. I don't want everyone walking away with no scratches. It's no fun.
*Please, no killing off characters without players and/or mod's consent.
*No flaming, it sucks.
*And above all else, have fun!
Joining and other nonsense:
Ok, in order to join, and have some control, you have to email the mod on duty if you want to join. We need some sort of order in this world.
With your email, please include the name of your character, the type of character you are going to play and what kind of creature you will be turning into (or already are). Also, give brief description and some sort of history, and equipment, if necessary. Also, make a journal for your character. If you need a code, I'm sure someone can help you out. :)
Using the community is for character interactions, and your personal journal is for personal reflections and/or private roleplaying. (IE, you want to have a private confession with your girlfriend, you do it in a personal journal so no one else can hear it, you use the community journal for a fight sequence if you want others to join in).
Method of play is easy. Consider it like a book. You just write how your character would act, in the 3RD PERSON (In the community journal). No '*' for actions are necessary, just like writing a novel. You write your action, and wait for the next players reactions. You use the comment feature for roleplay.
IMing during gameplay is fine, But not everyone knows what is going on, and it isn't always logged. It is best if used as a plotting agent with other players.
And if you have any questions, feel free to email me! I don't bite! :)
OH! One last thing, if you see the_last_oracle or alphaknight putting on the mod hat, it's time to listen up! :)
