(展开全部) Produced by Nigel Godrich, Win & Reìgine, and recorded in multiple locales including New Orleans, El Paso and Mount Desert Island, WE paradoxically distills “the longest we’ve ever spent writing, uninterrupted, probably ever" (per the band’s Win Butler) into a concise 40 minute epic – one as much about the forces that threaten to pull us away from the people we love, as it is inspired by the urgent need to overcome them. WE’s cathartic journey follows a definable arc from darkness into light over the course of seven songs divided into two distinct sides -- Side “I” channeling the fear and loneliness of isolation, and Side “WE” expressing the joy and power of reconnection.
On the album’s cover, a photograph of a human eye by the artist JR evokes Sagittarius A*, the supermassive black hole at the center of the galaxy. This stunning image -- embellished by the distinctive airbrush color tinting of Terry Pastor (utilizing the same physical technique he employed on David Bowie’s iconic Hunky Dory and Ziggy Stardust covers) – is the visual expression of WE.

7.5/10.0. Not mad about it. 硬喊口号倒不如说是时代的症结 也许上几个十年人类命运共同体还像是一个熠熠生辉的承诺 但这个信息时代终于还是把幻梦下所有的矛盾撕扯出来 时代的语境像是在嘲笑所有对人类社会未来的希望是多幼稚 谁又能期待一张专辑能把这些情绪都装进去呢
End of the Empire 听出了列侬感
没那么不堪吧，虽说进一步电气化甚至是电音化，rabbit hole也挺傻的，但有几首还是能听出真诚。前三张是肯定回不去了，知足常乐吧乐迷们。
3.5 以前的拱火最擅长以复杂的专辑结构驾驭极其宏大的主题，但这次他们却用极其粗暴的I/WE区分上下半张，试图用这种方式来塑造疫情的集体记忆。尽管某些单曲听感极佳，还是不禁要问那个用半张专现代化改写Orpheus与Eurydice爱情神话的拱火去哪了

很难想象，2022年了，还有人能写出Unconditional II(Race and Religion)这样的歌。像United body and soul, race and religion/You and me could be WE, could be WE/No time for division. new vision这样的词，简直像是从列侬的Imagine那AI续写出来的朴素左派进步主义宣言。... (展开)

I 1. 有的时候带着太多既定的预设去听一张专辑反而不是太好的选择。三首单曲出来大家纷纷惊呼原来的AF回来了云云（包括我），结果发现先行单曲其实就是全专最气势宏大、最“经典AF”的三首歌：去掉烘托气氛的两首前奏尾声，再去掉后期舞曲风的兔子洞和种族信仰，End of Empire... (展开)
