There are no urges (original) (raw)

Name/Nickname: Ashley
Age: 21

Likes: Well I’m an English major so some of my favorite things to do are reading and writing. I love to read all sorts of books but John Updike is one of my very favorite authors. I obviously love Harry Potter as well. I love hanging out with my friends and roommates doing absolutely anything…watching movies, dancing in our kitchen, drinking girly drinks. I love going out and meeting new people but I also like staying in and cuddling. I have an amazing boyfriend of 3 ½ years who is my best friend in the whole world. Also, y’all should probably know that I love pink, snow, martinis, and love.
Dislikes: Grouchy people (I tend to be pretty upbeat), bugs, cleaning, close-mindedness, war, and red meat.

Strong points: I’m a pretty positive person most of the time, always looking for the good in everything. I also try to see things from other people’s point of view, which is something that I think everyone should try to do.
Weaker points: I have a bad habit of telling people what they want to hear just to avoid conflict or something uncomfortable…which sometimes leads to trouble. I can be a little self-absorbed too.

What is something you'd change about yourself?: There are a lot of little things I’d change about myself (I’d like to be taller, for instance), but none of that is too important. I’m pretty content with myself I’d say. I guess I’d like to be more organized.

Hobbies & Talents: Writing. I do all sorts—creative fiction, poetry, essays, journalism (I work for my college paper), etc. I also happened to be quite the dancer, if I do say so myself. I took dance (ballet mostly) lessons when I was younger, but now I do most of my dancing at bars and parties.

Favorite colors: Pink!!
Favorite foods: Ice cream, any kind of pasta, potato soup, and cheesecake.
Mature or Immature?: A little bit of both. I can be mature when I need to be.
Leader or Follower?: Leader
Optimistic or Pessimistic?: Definitely an optimistic.
Day or Night Person? A little of both. I like sunshine and I like being outdoors doing stuff, but I also like to have fun at night.
Social or more aloof? Pretty social.

Favorite quote & why?: "Just living is not enough... One must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower"--Hans Christian Anderson. I think this is just a lovely thought. I know I, for one, need sunshine and flowers, not to mention love.
What is the last book you've read?: I just finished reading William Faulkner’s The Sound and the Fury for the third time. It never ceases to amaze me.

What are your goals and ambitions: More than anything else, I want to be a mother. Some people think it’s futile to spend four years at an expensive private university when all I want to do is have kids, but I just ignore people like that. I think raising children is the most important thing you do in life. However, before having kids (I want to wait like 5 years after we get married) I want to get into the publishing industry.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?: Married! Hopefully working at a small publishing house on the East Coast.

What are your closest friends like?: I have such a variety of best friends, but I’ll describe them the best I can. One thing they all have in common is intelligence. I like to surround myself with smart thoughtful people. They are all very loyal as well which makes us a tight knit bunch. I also have some unconventional best friends: my boyfriend, my mom, and my littlest sister, but they’re the people who know and love me best.
How do your friends decribe you?: Brilliant, but a ditz at the same time. They’d all probably say I was a big flirt too.
When you’re in a group, what's your part in the group dynamic?: It varies. At home with my roommates I sometimes take on the mom figure. I make sure one of Sneha gets up for class and tell Greta when she’s had too much to drink. I like to take care of people. But I also like to be the center of attention. I like to be telling stories and stuff.
What was the stupidest thing you and your friends have ever done?: There are way too many to name…stay away from alcohol children…it will make you do stupid things.

What are your feelings towards each of the four houses?: I think each of them has positive qualities. I think it’s unfortunate when a house gets stereotyped so much, for instance that Slytherin is full of evil villains and everyone in Hufflepuff is just stupid. I think Gryffindor gets glorified a lot of time, just because Harry and co. are part of it. I don’t necessarily think it’s the best house though. I prefer Ravenclaw actually.
Describe the house qualities that you feel accurately reflect you. Please try to include traits from each of the four houses.: I am fiercely loyal to my friends, like Gryffindors. I’m upbeat and pleasant like Hufflepuffs. I am goal oriented and know what I want like Slytherins and intelligent and serious about classes like Ravenclaws.
Given the choice, which house would you NOT want to be in?: Slytherin

Anything else?: Hmmm…not that I can think of.
