Sore Ike! Anpanman: Ruby no Negai (original) (raw)

Simple Review:

Poor animation, overly simple art style. Predictable character arc (to be expected with Anpanman movies). Horrorman loves Dokinchan? Not sure if that's canon or not. No tear-jerker moments in this one. I want to speak about the art style again. It makes me want to throw up. There's no detail whatsoever. I also think that the characters were more bland in this one but that could be the case for other Anpanman films that I haven't watched yet. Giving this a 4/10.

Detailed Review:

The story is like every other Anpanman movie. Female character has some character flaws, hooks up with the bread monster crew,... and learns a lesson along the way. It's about a girl named Ruby and she is responsible for the color red on the aurora. She is selfish, disrespective, greedy, and likes red birds. Anyways, the aurora leader person kicks her out because she threw a fit about how her color was the best and basically she destroyed the aurora the kids were on the fieldtrip looking at.

She is told if she finds the Aurora Drop then she can make three wishes as long as she flies to a dark, volcanic island and drag the thing out of a stone bird's throat. The rest is history.

It's one of those early 2000's digital art movies so the animation is really bad. The landscapes are incredibly poorly drawn, even in tbe TV show I am pretty sure they do a better job drawing mountains than in this movie. The rainbow aurora is 100% rendered and sticks out like a sore thumb.

If you like Cremepanda, go watch this movie because he's in this a lot.
