Some fans of Carnival Phantasm may recommend you to be familiar with all of Type Moon's Visual Novels so you can get all the references of the show, but as it happened with many like me.., as long as you've witnessed one of the routes of both "Fate/Stay Night" and "Tsukihime" then you'll be fine, and even when you're not familiar with something guess what?.., it doesn't matter since the creators clearly know how to please the mainstream audiences, as it is the case with this special, regarding more espcifically the female characters from the beginnning, who are really fun to watch, the rest of... the special follows a little bit of a sequel to what happened after the outcome of Shirou and Shiki's "Date Plan", but mostly it presents us another version of such story in which they chose the "Main Heroine Route" and see the consequences of that choice, so.., if you loved that catastrophe of a multiple girls date in episode 12 then you are assured to love this too. P.S, I can't believe I got the chance to be the first one to write a review about this, and by the way..., could "My Anime List" seriously change the rating system given how inconsistent it is?.., since when is 4 a score you give to something "Decent".

Carnival Phantasm: HibiChika Special (2012)

A fair bit after the main Phantasm this is an excellent thing to have been added to it. The inclusion of Hibiki and especially Chikagi was very well done since both brought a different dynamic to the show. Also, the second half showing the other route for the original finale was better than the original I would say.

Although slightly newer the art is of the same level and so fits nicely.

The soundtrack is all the same again which is good for it to be fitting.

The inclusion of the two new main characters for this episode was great, especially... with the cell phone.

This episode was very enjoyable and definitely worth watching.

8/10.
