8-nin no Senshi (original) (raw)

Synopsis

Pulau Yang Indah, a secluded and picturesque archipelago, is home to eight rather eclectic clans, all of which have their own customs, lifestyles, and unique fashion sense. Every four years, each clan sends its most powerful warrior to compete in the Great Wyrm Tournament for the title of King of the Archipelago. The rules are straightforward: the combatant who makes their opponent orgasm first wins.

Harto of the Jewel Clan has a surprise in store for this year's competition. Having studied abroad, Harto intends to introduce a brand new technique that is guaranteed to bring his rivals to unprecedented heights of pleasure. The law of the battleground may change forever once Harto demonstrates what a prostate massage can do!

A very smutty BL manga. I mean, with the title being DICK Fight Island, you better be prepared to see a LOT of dicks. A second volume is being released but this works well as a stand-alone volume.

The plot is wild. Men go around showing their butts as a sign of manliness. There is a tournament where one man from each tribe "fight" each other (first to climax loses) - the winner is the king of the islands for the next four years. To make things difficult for their opponents, participants wear dick armor. Yes, you read that right. Yes, this story is absolutely... ridiculous.

But it's also incredibly fun. I laughed so loudly I almost woke people up. Each tribe has enough backstory to them that you can understand their people. There is politics and history and each tribe has its own culture, which others need to understand.

It was entertaining. That's all I want from a manga so I was happy with it. Don't go into this expecting major plot or development (there is more than expected, but it's not a great amount). I would have liked to know more about the characters (vol 2 looks to focus on the main couple). It's dumb, light-hearted fun that barely makes sense, but is still an enjoyable read.

I didn't like how the manga doesn't have chapters. It's all just one chapter.

I came...

I came to love this manga upon discovering it in a Barnes and Noble I always found my self looking at the sealed paragon but I attained no motivation. Alas, after stumbling upon Barnes and Noble with a little too much spending money, I decided Reibun Ike's Dick Fight Island should take housing in my shelf and more importantly, my heart.

Story - 8/10
Reading the synopsis on the back of the book made me go through a rollercoaster of emotions. As I read I found myself wanting to know more of the culture that surrounded the 8 clans. All the questions I amassed were quickly... answered within just a couple panels of dialogue. It was "hard" not to flip to the next chapter.

Art - 10/10
Now I understand why this manga is sealed in stores. I even "came" to find myself staring at the panels. It really "blew" me away.

Characters- 8/10
Our main protagonist Hart, is a member of the jewel clan. He is a light hearted man with a very "caring" personality. Right off the bat, you meet the other seven contestants with "pleasurable" personalities. As the story progresses the relationship between the contestants really "grows".

Enjoyment - 10/10
I enjoy every page, scene, character, fight in this series. The best part of the whole reading experience was that I did not feel gay reading it.

Overall- 8/10
I came. Seriously I need new underwear.
