A_Haiku_Unloose's Profile - MyAnimeList.net (original) (raw)

Hello! Thank you for visiting my profile and

I am A Haiku Unloose (which is actually an anagram of two words - if you have a lot of free time, you can try and decipher it, and PM me your solution - sounds like a perfectly fine waste of time. :) )

About friend requests: When I send someone a friend request, I provide a short message with it, explaining why I would like to become friends with that person. I believe that it is basic human decency to do so. I would expect the same if someone wanted to befriend me. Just adding random people is not something I encourage or will go along with.

CV: I have been watching anime since when I was a child in the 90ies (my first love - Digimon Adventure), but started watching more intensely since 2016. I have two anime to thank for that :
Naruto, which I was watching for years, but never got to watching any anime beyond it, until one fateful day in March, I had before me a decision - either go and watch the fillers of Shippuden I skipped, while waiting for the next episode to come out, or go watch another anime. I decided to watch this little anime called Monster. The rest is now history.

I like psychology and philosophy in general, so my favorite anime would also be those that cover those topics (but only when done right!), although I do enjoy an occasional SoL, just to relax my mind.
I also like discussing anime (and other things beside it), so if you want to start a discussion about anime you have watched/about anything really, feel free to do so.

My rating system, for anyone interested:

10 - This is simply a work of genius. It's special in so many ways, well written, well directed, it makes me think, it makes me laugh, it makes me cry, it makes me feel good for being alive and seeing it.

9 - An anime that I wouldn't change a thing about, an amazing anime, but it doesn't have that brilliant part that would make it a 10. Would always recommend to everyone.

8 - This is anime that is mostly as great as a 9, but it had some weak parts that made me downgrade it, or maybe it was great in what it was supposed to do, but the characters weren't developed well enough, it definitely had something lacking.

7 - This is for those anime that are either consistently good, but never go beyond that to reach towards excellence, or for those that have some boring parts, but at some parts are genius and worthy of a 10.

6 - It's a good anime, that did bring something special on the table (maybe an interesting premise, or interesting character designs), but didn't deliver in many of the areas. Also, this place is for all those anime that start out great, and have so much promise to be an 8, or even a 9, but do something stupid in the last third and wreck everything. They make me the saddest.

5 - It wasn't too boring, but it didn't bring anything much to the table, but it was enjoyable for some reason.

4 - It was probably boring, and didn't really have any too interesting ideas about it, or maybe it did have some, but it didn't explore them well enough. It's an anime that simply falls flat for the most of the time.

3 - A bad anime. Didn't enjoy one second of it. It was a waste of time, and I am sad because of it, but at least I didn't hate its guts.

2 - A horrible anime. This place is reserved for those anime that get on my nerves, or the ones I feel are making me stupid with every second watching them. Usually accompanied with pretentious writing that is supposed to be terribly clever, but really isn't. Probably dropped it after 1 or 2 episodes, because I couldn't stand it.

1 - A revolting piece of garbage. The director probably didn't have any idea what he wanted to do, it just looks like a heap of random things thrown on top of one another. I feel bad for anyone who wasted their time with this abomination.

*Note: The rating is a little different for currently watching anime
