MAL is my current favorite site to keep track of what I’ve watched/read, am watching/reading and plan to watch/read. The list grows every day (seriously, that plan to watch/read list is HUGE) and I have no idea when I shall get to it all with my growing schedule in the work world but I hope to one day complete them all. I haven’t outgrown my affection for Japanese animation and manga, partially because I believe it is superior to just about any visual artwork in the world. Since my discovery of it at the age of 11, I have been undoubtedly addicted to its stunning artwork. Inuyasha was the key to unlocking the door of so many beautiful and enthralling worlds to delve into and is to this day a very fond memory of late nights on Adult Swim. I also find that anime is subject to many and varied views. Where one person might love it, another may violently hate it. I love finding those opposing views and reading what people have to say on it. Anime's a very subjective experience in my opinion, as well as manga, and I know that what I find enjoyable and moving may be awful and painful for others to watch. It's just amazing to see how others view what I may potentially love and I respect all those views and I hope that all of you would respect mine as well.

I find manga to have a more aesthetic appeal to me though, especially on an emotional level. I feel that I can connect to the characters, story and emotions better, perhaps because I have been reading since I was 6 years old and reading will always be my first love. And let's face it. Those manga characters look so much better in manga form than anime form. I always find that their anime counterpart is sorely lacking in the looks department. Or maybe I'm too judgmental of anime? Don't take it the wrong way, I find anime pleasing visually as well, but sometimes characters just look more beautiful from whence they came.
