For me it's a 10. It's a very impactful show that makes you care, makes you think and leaves you in awe with its brilliant execution.

Dude, I strongly suggest you re-think your position towards Attack on Titan. The second season has been nothing short of amazing. It may not be your kind of anime, but I think it's something at least worth checking out.

Hmm, I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. I didn't find the characters flat, at least the main ones. And I thought the story was told in a compelling way that always kept me interested wanting to see more. My only gripe, like I said, was the reveal of the killer, which became obvious after a certain point. And the ending, for a mystery, lacked a convincing climax. Not that I minded it, but I was expecting something better.

By the way, I see you dropped Shirobako. I was planning to see it someday, if I ever got to it. What made you drop it?

Why the low score for Erased? Save for the predictable ending, I thought it was pretty good.

I wasn't keen about Ace either, but then the backstory when they were kids with Sabo gave him much needed depth. Speaking of Sabo, I really enjoyed his character. Looking forward to seeing him once again later on in the series.

Totally with you about the crew interaction. When I learned that they were going to split after Sabaody and weren't going to feature till the second half of the series I was bewildered. Thankfully Oda is a good writer and managed to keep the story compelling enough.

That's good to hear. I'm waiting for the right moment to catch up to the series, perhaps when the third movie is released.

I started marathoning One Piece from where I had left off, that is, the end of Sabaody Archipelago. Impel Down and Marineford were enjoyable but not as good as I had anticipated. I thought the latter suffered from being a very chaotic arc which didn't transition very well into anime, not to mention the anime's constraint of stretching one chapter per episode didn't help either in that regard.

I see you liked Kizu II a lot. :)

I agree about the pacing. It can be very dull at times only to get relentless once the action kicks in. Nevertheless, I think you should finish it, especially since I think the second half is way better than the first.

And by the way, One Punch Man season 2 confirmed! :D

Oh, I really enjoyed it. Despite it being a satire and all, it still manages to draw you in with its brilliant storytelling and cast of characters. I'm looking froward to the second season.

Speaking of popular anime, I realize you never got to finish Attack on Titan. Waiting for the second season?

Honestly, I didn't really like the ending of Durarara!! I thought the final season was really good, but it ended so quickly and uneventfully in the final episode. It was a let down for me.

Even though I was expecting this kind of ending, the tension that the final season built up made me expect something major and grandiose which was never delivered. Instead, the status quo from the first episode was kept intact. The three kids being friends again, Celty and Shinra staying together, Izaya and Shizuo the same old rivals etc. It was unfulfilling and gives you this feeling that all 60 episodes have been a waste of time that didn't lead to anywhere.

I can't believe Kubo didn't explain AT ALL the story of the Soul King and his connection to Yhwach. Something so important yet never touched upon. But the plot holes are infinite, I could write an entire essay about it. Such a major shame Bleach had to end like this. :(

Anyway, have you watched anything interesting lately? I've been absent from anime for a while, mostly due to work, but now I'm catching up with Durarara!! Curious to see how it will conclude.

Well, that was a complete and utter let down. No surprise ending, no anime or manga continuation. Just an unremarkable, run-of-the-mill ending. I really wish Kubo comes out and explains that this was not the ending he had intended, and hopefully, just hopefully we'll get some new material in the future. Cos the live-action movie? Total bullshit.

Any predictions about the final chapter? I'm very curious as to what this "extra important announcement" is going to be about. Hopefully it'll be a new anime adaptation or perhaps a sequel.

By the way, I don't know if you noticed, but this penultimate chapter bears a striking resemblance to what Yhwach described back in chapter 680, about how he was going to slaughter everyone at their most joyful and happiest moment in time. And then we got that final page... I don't know, it's a long-stretch, but if Kubo really pulls off such a plot twist, it's going to be insane.

Or it could very well be just Ichigo who absorbed Yhwach and is now the new Soul King and has come to congratulate Rukia. XD

Yes, that is true, but even so granting Kubo an extra 15 chapters wouldn't have been the end of the world. Instead, they gave him the middle finger and told him to wrap it up in 5 chapters, which is not only disrespectful to someone you've been working with for over 15 years, but also to the fans who've been buying the magazine to read Bleach for such a long time.

Kubo has fucked up, no doubt about it, but Shueisha's treatment here is absolutely disgusting, especially when the series was almost near its ending.

So, what do you make of the ending of Bleach? Just one more chapter left apparently. The way Kubo has been rushed into dong this is absolutely insane, though I think that fault falls on both parties, honestly. On Shueisha for telling Kubo to f*ck off, and on Kubo himself for filling this last arc with pointless and long fights instead of focusing on the plot. Regardless, it's a real shame that Bleach is getting such a treatment.
