Good news, Wandwielder fans! (original) (raw)
Wandwielder's next novel, Minella McFonagall and the Hunky Headmaster, will be released on July 16, 2005! Apparently, there's some other book by a muggle woman coming out the same day, but Wandwielder is confident that sales of his book will be at a record high on release day.
He was gracious enough to provide us with a snippet from the novel - his 89th work to date. His publisher was reluctant to release any information at all, but you know how much Norman loves fawning reviews.
From the chapter entitled
... rushed Perry to the hospital wing, hoping against hope that they hadn't found him too late. When they arrived, Madame Lomfey directed them to the back, and Germiani and Don helped her ease Perry onto a bed. At that moment, Winny burst through the door.
"What happened? Is he alright?"
Germiani and Don filled her in, while Madame Lomfey began to work on healing Perry. As they were talking, Headmaster Gandlefore appeared, followed closely by Professor McFonagall. Both of their faces appeared rather flushed, which Germiani thought strange for people their age, and McFonagall was obsessively pulling at her robes, though they were already quite securely draped about her.

"I'm staying with him," said Winny in a tone which suggested the matter was closed.
"Very well, Miss Geasley," sighed Madame Lomfey resignedly. "Let me know when he wakes up. As for you two," she glared at Don and Germiani, "it's time you got back to bed."
Germiani and Don began to leave, but Germiani couldn't help wanting to hang back. Don prodded her forward, and she relented, but as soon as they had crossed the threshold into the corridor, Germiani tugged Don's arm and pulled him behind the statue of Percival the Percocious. Not because she suddenly wanted to snog him - though being so close to Don couldn't help bringing that thought to mind - but because she wanted to see Gandlefore and McFonagall leave. They could still hear voices in the hospital wing through the open door.
"Yes, well, I'll leave Mr. Hotter in your more-than-capable hands, Madame Lomfey," said Gandlefore. "I have some ... business to attend to before turning in."
Gandlefore didn't sound quite himself.
"And I should get back to my, um, knitting," added McFonagall, in a similarly suspicious tone.
"Knitting! At this hour!" ejaculated Madame Lomfey.
"It's a passion, of sorts," replied McFonagall, with a sudden air of impatience.
Germiani and Don heard the footsteps of the professors, and watched them exit the hospital wing and proceed together down the corridor.
"More-than-capable hands, Melbus?" sneered McFonagall.
"Minella," said Gandlefore with a grin.
"She seemed quite suspicious about my knitting," she spat.
"Why shouldn't she be? You're not a very good liar, Minella."
"What exactly do you mean by that, Melbus?"
"Only that there are some people for whom lying is second nature. You, however, have always been too, well, noble to resort to mendacity."
"You're lucky it's dark," said McFonagall much more warmly, "I haven't blushed so much since Professor Pickwick told me he liked my new hat."
Behind the statue, Don grinned as he watched Germiani's face become alight with the same glow that usually accompanied getting back a homework assignment with perfect marks.
"So," said Gandlefore, "would you like to get back to ... knitting my socks?"
McFonagall giggled, and she and Gandlefore passed out of Don's and Germiani's hearing.
"I knew it!" said Germiani proudly.
Mr. Wandwielder is a bit busy at the moment with preparations for the big release day, but he wanted me to deliver this message to h311ybean:
Happy Birthday!
