Admin: Collab Post Collab thread. We know this is a bit late but then, the idea of actually opening Nacowrimo as a project, rather than just us two was made pretty late but we promise to be more organised next year. Honest!

Anyway. This entry will be open until the 6th of November and it's a chance to find a writer or an artist. We've only chosen a week because any longer would make the art side harder. Post either a short summary of your idea, a contact email and your name if you're looking for an artist or samples of your work, skills and a contact email if you're an artist/colourist.

I'll start it off because I'm only scripting (drawing skills of a squashed fruitfly, me.), however, I can colour and examples of my work can be found here. I can be reached at this email addy.

Hope it's going well for everyone so far!

format Does anyone have an example of a script formatted for comics? Thanks!

Looking for a writer... Hi everyone...

I'm pretty good at drawing, but I can't script for the life of me. Is anybody here in the opposite situation and looking for an artist? I'll draw pretty much anything. Even porn, although I'll probably end up blushing the entire time and making embarrassing anatomical mistakes on the poor guys' nether-regions. ^_^'

If you want to see some of my artwork, you can find it here, here, and here.

National Novel Writing Month is pretty well known. National Comic Writing Month is (currently) less so.

So, what's it all about?

derryderrydown and birdsflying decided they needed something to kick them up the butt when it came to getting move on with comics they were planning. And then they figured other people might need the same. At this point, NaCoWriMo began to expand into something to

distract

help them.

Rules? We don't need no steenkin' rules!

Actually, we do. But, as we're Benevolent Dictators, the rules are fairly straightforward.

* The challenge is to script and/or draw a 24-page comic, starting on November 1, 2004, and finishing before November 30, 2004. Tying in to NaNoWriMo's 50,000 word target and on the grounds that a picture's worth a thousand words, there must be a bare minimum of fifty panels.

* We know that it's going to be more of a challenge to do this if art is included. Therefore, collaboration is allowed, with separate people doing scripting, pencilling, inking and colours. Please, one person per task.

* We're trusting you not to claim you've succeeded when you haven't. Else there will be no cookies.

* Depending on volume, we can probably host completed comics/artwork, if anyone wants. We're also happy to link to them on your own webspace.

* The admins' word is final. Any disagreement between admins will be settled by a chocolate-eating contest, with the winner paying for the chocolate.

* We are all batshitcrazy.

Gee, this sounds a really good idea! How do I join up?

You join up by joining the community. Simple, really.
