E-resources are becoming the major source of information to everyone, especially to subject users... more E-resources are becoming the major source of information to everyone, especially to subject users. Libraries have started to include e-resources as part of their collection. The so-called hybrid libraries are managing print and digital resources. Use of these resources have to be studied seriously, so that more and more digital resources can be added to the collection. This is a study about the use of e-journals in King Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC) Library at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The usage of e-journals in the library before the introduction of discovery tools, such as PubMed LinkOut, Google Schoalr's Library Link and EBSCO Discovery Service, and after its introduction were studied. The usage data were collected from the COUNTER reports of the websites of databases subscribed by KAMC Digital Library. It is found that the introduction of discovery tools has brought out an enormous increase in the use of e-resources.

The academic community is slowly switching over from using print resources to e- resources. Changing priority of the academic community for e-resources create a new challenge to library management at Colleges and Universities. Studies are conducted to know about the priority and use of e-resources for academic purposes. This study is aimed at assessing the extend of use of e-resources by postgraduate students, research scholars and the faculty of Kannur University, Kerala State. It is generally observed that the academic community is well aware of e-resources and interested in using it to the maximum, but at the same time feels that the facilities provided are inadequate to promote and strengthen the use of e-resources in academic institutions.
