_11:43 pm_[ambersnow] | I've never seen this before for some odd reason. It made me miss my sailor.I'm the brunette standing behind you in line at the grocery store, eyeing the newest Support Our Troops magnet while paging through the latest issue of Modern Bride. The look on my face is complacent and my thoughts are thousands of miles away on some military base I've only been verbally described of over the phone.I'm the young girl in the next car with the windows rolled up and the glassy visage only on the road ahead. The radio is set to one of the local country stations which is currently playing "Letters From Home" ... But you can't hear it because you're talking to a family member or a friend on your cell phone. You catch a glance at the Army sticker on the bumper of my car but you don't know that when the song reaches "my dearest love it's almost dawn, I've been laying here all night long, wondering where you might be," my heart breaks a thousand times.I'm the girl who visits the Military girlfriend or wife website at odd hours of the night to find some kind of comfort for that lonesome feeling that has settled in the pit of my stomach.I'm the woman who has fought an inner battle, trying to accept the path the man I love has chosen. I'm the woman who will willingly sacrifice my family, my home to follow a man clear across the world. I'm the woman who never asked for this but deals with it without complaint.I'm the young woman who swells with pride every time I see my Sailor standing tall in his Dress Blues/Whites. I'm the one who spots a Sailor/Soldier sticker, license plate, or flag and feels a connection with it's owner, hoping that maybe she's not alone in this melancholy, sacrificial situation.I'm the one who HATES war but knows that it's a necessary thing. I'm the one who supports the troops, regardless of MY own opinion of the president. He is the boss of my husband, because he's the man who our troops are fighting under.I am the young woman who tries my hardest to go about myeveryday life. I am the young woman who tries to concentrate during my classes and do the job I get paid to do. I am the young woman who hates sleeping alone. I am the young woman who closes my eyes and pretends that the man I love is laying right there next to me, his arms wrapped around me. I am the young woman who tries not to miss him, who tries not to cry whenever I hear his name or even the mention of sailors. I am the woman who is terrified because the love of my life has been sent off to war. I am many things.A daughter.A cousin.A niece.A student.A friend. But most importantly, I am the wife of a United States Sailor. (Comment on this) |

_5:29 pm_[heatherwt] | Quick question Hey girls! I am in the process of making a website. The other day i was reading a post somewhere and they said that they wanted to make a romantic care package to send to their guy while they were out to sea, but it took too much time. My question for you is would you buy a package that is already made or you have the option to decide what to put in it? If so what would you like to see in it? Thanks for the comments. _4:44 pm_[kimberry182] | tracking bootcamp My husband (a recruiter) has given me a task of trying to find out if there is a way to track a recruit through bootcamp online, IE: a webpage that gives you his progress. I have no idea why he doesn't know this or not but he and his fellow recruiters were wondering. I looked and looked but didn't find anything they seem sure there is.Do you ladies know if there is a way to track a recruit through Navy basic training?thanks! _7:25 pm_[karlicookie] | hi me and my husbad have decided to turn our lives around and join the Navy. Any suggestions. He will be joining a adult school to finish his High school diploma (he doesn't have much left) and will be then going to the recruiter to get on DEP I am scared but I also know I will feel relieved that we can leave being broke behind and not worry about how to pay for a doctor. We have many goals we feel we can reach in the Navy and I am personally very excited of how it will make my husband a real man. He needs the values and morals that are taught in the Navy. I really think being sailor is HOT too so that will help with the romance I think. We have a toddler and I want her to be proud of her dad see him be what he can be! Anyways I will stop rambling I just wanted to see if you have any advice on how to keep my husband geared towards joining. He is afraid of dying at war and I don't want the focus to stay on that I want to look towards the positive. Nice to meet you all! (3 Comments |Comment on this) |

_5:15 pm_[spidermanswife] | Navy wedding vows Hey guys I know this should probably be under a cut but I'm having a blonde moment and can't remember how lol enjoy. X postedNavy Wedding Vows Dear family and friends, we are gathered here today in the sight of God and the Department of the Navy, to witness this exchange of vows, and see the love that these two dedicated, loving people have for one another. "Wilt thou, __________, take ___________ as your dependent, to dwell together in so far as the Department of the Navy will permit? Wilt thou love her, comfort her via the postal service, E-mail, or over the phone, make sure she knows where the commissary, Exchange, and church are, and what pier your ship is docked at and your department telephone number (so she won't bother the Messenger of the Watch on the quarterdeck) the day she arrives, wherever you are stationed?" "Wilt thou attempt to tell her more than 24 hours in advance that you will be pulling out for two weeks or more, beginning the next morning?" This especially applies to the years you will live in Virginia, California,Washington State, and Florida! "Wilt thou ____________, take this Sailor as thy wedded husband, knowing that he is depending upon you to be the perfect independent Navy wife, running the household as you see fit, taking part in established Navy traditions even if no one can explain them anymore, and being nice to the Captain's wife? (though she may remind you of your new mother-in-law.) Furthermore, you understand that your life with your husband (little that you may have together) will not be normal, that you may have to explain to your children, not once, but twice, and more often in the same day, that mothers do have husbands, and that children do have daddy's, and that the picture of the man on the refrigerator is the same individual who tucks them in at 2200 hours, long after they are asleep. This Sailor is their daddy, who loves them very, very, very much. "Wilt thou love, respect and wait for him, preparing and mailing his favorite cookies (including some for his shipmates) and pictures of yourself and the kids, so he can remember what you look like? And last but not least, always pick him up at the pier when the ship pulls in (or the day after i he is in the duty section) and put on the outside of your door a 'Welcome Home sign" "I, _________,Take thee_________ as my wife, from 1900 to 0430 hours or as long as allowed by my duty section leader and the Captain (subject to change without notice), for better or worse, earlier or later, near or far, and I promise to look at the pictures you send me, but not until after my watch is over, but before I turn the lights out in my rack. I will also send a letter or E-mail (if I am allowed access to a terminal), if time permits, and if not, to somehow, some way, make the time by sleeping even less than operational tasking permits." "I, _________, take thee,_________as my husband, realizing that your comings and goings and 0530 musters are normal (although absurd to me) and part of your life as a Sailor. I promise not to be shocked or taken by surprise when you inform me that, although we've just arrived at our new duty station, we will be leaving within the month because of a detailer mistake or a CNO priority billet. Yes, I'll have you as my husband as long as while your are away my allotment comes through regularly, that you leave me a current power of attorney and the checkbook at all times. I am a family member and proud of it, dependent upon myself and my resources. Although I miss you when you are away, I know I can handle whatever comes across my path and make you proud." "Now then, let no man or woman put asunder what God and the Department of the Navy have brought together. The Navy hereby issues you this lovely, dedicated, independent woman, knowing that she'll be an asset not only to your marriage, but also to the mission of the United States Navy, which is, as you all know, to remain in a high state of Readiness. By the authority vested in the Bible, elaborated in the regulation and subject to current directives concerning the aspects of marriage in the Navy, you are now a Sailor with a Dependent. Best Wishes and good Luck. Current Mood: bored (3 Comments |Comment on this) |

I moved here about a year ago. Its hard to adjust living here but i am trying to make the best of it. It's hard to move somewhere and not know anybody, so i thought by joining this community i can meet people that understand what its like to be a military wife. (Comment on this) |
