Mangos With Chili is a Bay Area based arts organization committed to showcasing high quality work of life saving importance by queer and trans artists of color to audiences in the Bay Area and beyond. Founded in 2006 by Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha and Ms Cherry Galette, Mangos with Chili features an annual touring cabaret of queer and trans people of color performance artists, offering unforgettable performance in celebration of our lives, stories, survival, and the legacies we are creating for future generations of queer and trans people of color.
For over 3 years, Mangos With Chili has performed to sold out houses across North America, wowing audiences in world class theaters, underground performance spaces, bars, and campus halls, with their high intensity, breathtaking performance, politics, and storytelling craft, reflecting the lives and stories of queer and trans people of color, while making art that speaks out in resistance to the daily struggles around silence, isolation, homophobia, and violence that QTPOC face.

colestainedpage: Endo in Asheville or Western NC
Hello. I'm getting my T letter from my therapist on Tuesday next week and am having a hard time finding an endo to start me off on T. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm willing to travel some if they take new patients and insurance.
Thanks!
Cole

man_in_a_bottle: Looking for a gyno with trans experience.
Hey guys I checked through the archives quickly and online with not a lot of luck on this topic...
I actually don't live in NC but a good buddy who has been helping me out does and is in desperate need of a gynecologist so I told him I would make a post for him. He is on T and presents as male and needs someone who has experience with treating trans people.
He lives in Maggie Valley but is able to travel some as he has transportation. Any referrals would be very much appreciated.

miles_price: Doctor, T and Insurance
Hey guys,
my name is Miles i go to nc state university, 19 pre-everything.
im currently living full time as male and have been doing so since the beginning of last summer and ive know i was trans for about a year and a half now. i have a therapist that might be able to write me a letter and im looking to start T around april.
I wanted to know if anyone could recommend any doctors/endos in raleigh? i dont have a car so that is kind of difficult but i have a few friends that might be willing to help if their not too far away.
i second question is how expensive is T and any of the blood work, physical and stuff that i would need before i can start T?
i would pretty much be paying for this out of pock. i am financially on my own even though my parents support me in my transition and everything but just cant help me financially. i have insurance but its kind of hard to explain and i have an old insurance card that expired in november and i dont know how or when i can get a new card and there has been issues with it in the past.
Thanks guys, Miles
