into the object’s cultural and historical context as well as

color comparative illustrations. The catalogue includes a
brief history of the Egyptian collection, full bibliographical
references, a glossary, and an index.

The core of the work is a typological study based on the comparison of architectural plans of one type of building dedicated to a particular deity.

The author sees the variety of types of temple as reflecting the variety of local Amuns with their respective paraphernalia, distinctive appearance and varied titles that emerged across Nubia.

The two little-known coffins in the Egyptian collection of the North Carolina Museum of Art, Rale... more The two little-known coffins in the Egyptian collection of the North Carolina Museum of Art, Raleigh, USA, have recently been the subjects of scholarly research. The present article offers a detailed description of the decorative scheme of the coffins and the subsequent re-dating and provenance attribution based on iconography and design. The article also includes a few notes on each of the deceased’s names and titles, an overview of the inscriptions, and a brief examination of the materials and construction methods.
