The synthetic pathway is suitable for preparation and biological evaluation of cyclophellitol analogues in both enantiomeric series.

The main attention is drawn to the electrophilic amination (ami dation) of aromatic hydrocarbons because of the lack of comprehensive reviews on recent advances in this area.
