Hi, this journal is here for the express purpose of housing Theme Lists for NCIS Fanfics
This grew out of my delious bookmark lists and has taken on a life of its own. I try to update fairly often, but don't always have the stories or the time.
Here is the Great Big List of Theme Lists Currently Available
This is an over reaching Theme/Tag divided into multiple lists with more being added on a fairly regular basis. The rule of thumb being that if you can't even squint to find these themes in canon the themes belong in this list
Lists Within AU Theme
Supernatural:
This is the home for the spooky and weird, the things that go bump in the night. If it has magic, werewolves(magical), vamps, angels, mystical powers it will hopefully eventually make its way to this list
Not Human:
A fairly self descriptive title, this is the home for those stories in which one of our beloved cast members is not entirely of the human variety, so if they are vamps, aliens, shapeshifters, angels, mutants or anything else you can't find in your local grocery story then hopefully it will be here
Shapeshifting:
This list is more focused than the Not Human lists. Any story in which a character can change shape is what you will find in this list. One of the forms must be human though.
Alternet First Meetings, Alternate Hirings, and Never Joined NCIS: AKA Non-Canon
If you are looking for stories in which a character meets another or is hired in a way that is most definitely canon, or never joins NCIS in the first place we shall place it on this list.
When we(meaning I) collect a large enough list of stories this list will most likely split.
Slavery:
And this does not necessarily mean kinky sex, not this list is for AU stories set in a world in which some form of slavery is legal, so sorry kidnapped sex slaves need not apply... to this list at least.
Mental Abilities/Powers:
Come get your psycic fic here! Looking for Tony the Telapath? A clairvoyant Abby? A Gibbs who really can kill you with a look? Well look no further, here is the list in which at least one of our characters displays some type of mental ability
What If's:
If you have ever wondered what would have happened if Tony hadn't taken thw SWAK letter from Tim or if Mike Franks had hit Tony just a little harder this is the list from you. This list is vor stories that jump into AU/What If land during an episode
The lists within this theme are all geared toward one or more abilities outside the normal human range, Shifter!Tony, Psycic!Abby, and all others welcome
Mental Abilities/Powers:

Theme: Episode Related AKA The Mostly Cannon List
Not so much a theme but a parent directory/tag for all stories related directly to an Episode. Most of the lists are for Cannon Only stories, though a few are for specific, narrowly defined AU stories
Season One, Season Two, Season Three, Season Four, Season Five
These lists, divided into seasons (with more season to come soon), are for episode tags, missing scenes, and lead-in stories for specific episodes that do not contradict cannon, minor mistakes accepted.
Requiem:
Certain episodes generate waaaaay more fiction than others. Once of these was that amazing season five episode 'Requiem' so this list is specifically for those itching for a fic inspired by the episode with the Heroic!Tony
What If's:
If you have ever wondered what would have happened if Tony hadn't taken thw SWAK letter from Tim or if Mike Franks had hit Tony just a little harder this is the list from you. This list is vor stories that jump into AU/What If land during an episode
What, you might ask, is Whump? Whump is quite simply the beating up, injuring, or visiting mental/emotional stress upon a character, or just imagine the noise of a 2x4 hitting Tony 'whump'
All of the themes that involve any time of physical or emotional distress will find themselves lumped under the 'whump' category for easy access
Disability:
Want to read about one of the team suffering from a permanent disability?
Injury:
Do you like seeing a character injured, but want them to recover in the end? Then this is your list.
Illness:
If perhaps a few coughs, sniffles, and the occasional bout with the Black Plauge is what you are looking for then you might want to check out this list.
The Hurt Tony List
Do you like your Tony with a side of angst and hurt/comfort? Do you feel a story is lacking if Tony isn't forced to visit the hospital, or at least Ducky? Then this is the list for you

PreSeries NCIS
Stories set PreSeries but that involve NCIS somehow. Included in this are several 'how were they hired stories' for Abby and Tony, and everyone's lives at NCIS prior to Yankee White
Gibbs in Marine Corps
Stories set during Gibbs's time in the Marines, this means all non-AU Gibbs/Shannon stories would also be in this list.
Kate's Life
Stories featuring Kate Todd set prior to Yankee White.
Tim McGee's Life
Stories featuring McGee set prior to his first appearance in 'Sub Rosa'
Detective Tony DiNozzo, Baltimore PD
Stories that feature Tony as a Baltimore detective.
Tony DiNozzo Pre-Baltimore
Stories centered on Tony DiNozzo that take place between entering Ohio State and starting at BPD, this includes his time with the Peoria PD and Philly PD
Before They Were In DC
Stories about Jenny Shepard, Leon Vance, Ziva David, Paula Cassidy, and other NCIS agents that take place prior to their introduction to the show.
Childhood
This list comprises stories set in our heroes childhoods.
This Theme covers all of those family themes, both real and made.
DiNozzo Family
Stories that feature or discuss the DiNozzo family quite heavily
Father/Son-Gibbs/Tony
Stories in which Tony and Gibbs have a father/son relationship, or actually ARE father and some
NCIS Agents As Parents
Feel like reading a story where our favorite characters have some lovely little rugrats running around?
