The study examined the relationship between child temperament and academic performances among kin... more The study examined the relationship between child temperament and academic performances among kindergarteners in the Wa East and Wa West districts of the upper west region of Ghana. A sample of 150 fathers were selected at random from the two districts to participate in the study. Children of the fathers selected were made of 69 boys and 81girls. Self-reported data from questionnaires were used to examine the relationship between child temperament and academic performances among the kindergarten children of the selected region. Analyses of the data revealed that low intensity, anger/frustration, attentional focusing, fear, and falling reactivity/soothability characteristics of child temperament categories predicted the academic performances of the kindergarten children within the two districts. This study aiming to determine the managerial characteristics of the school principals and to rev... more This study aiming to determine the managerial characteristics of the school principals and to reveal the effects on the development of the students was planned in a qualitative case study model. The study group was 16 undergraduate students. The semi-structured letters were used as a means of collecting data in this study written by undergraduate students to the school principals. The findings were analyzed by using content analysis technique. The findings show that school principals exhibit both positive and negative personal characteristics. The most frequent positive personal characteristics of the school principals were good-humored, neat, sympathetic, fair, tolerant, and respectful. The most frequent negative personal characteristics were authoritarian, punitive, normative, strict, and distant attitudes. The study examined the relationship between fathers’ involvement and girls’ characteristics. A sa... more The study examined the relationship between fathers’ involvement and girls’ characteristics. A sample of 106 families was engaged in the study consisting of 212 participants; 106 fathers and children. Self-reported data collected by questionnaires were used to examine the relationship between fathers’ involvement and girls’ characteristics. The study showed that the temperament of girls and schools they attended profoundly influenced fathers’ engagement, interaction, and involvement in their daughters. It also illustrated that within the temperament characteristics of girls, child surgency and effortful control affected how fathers managed their engagement, interaction, and involvement with their daughters amidst the temperament characteristics. It was however recommended that parental education programs should be established to sensitize fathers on fathers’ involvement hindrances and solutions and that child temperament characteristics should be carefully considered in all dealings...
