Quick question Okay, so I'm trying to get a blast out of the last part of summer now that the heat has died down and the bugs seem to be going away. Anyone able to suggest any good parks/outdoor gardens/whatever to visit in NE Ohio?
Nelson Ledges was a great place to check out, I've got pictures of that :) I'll Edit this entry and put them beneath a cut when I get home.
( As promised here are the picturesCollapse )

Saying Hallo (not canton, eastside clevelander!) With which Muppet do you most identify?
Beaker *meememeemeepmeep!
Funny enough my best friend from highschool looks like bunsen. Funniest duo ever.
What is the most creative thing you've done to get rid of a door-to-door evangelist?
Ironically enough I find them very useful. When I was living at home my father and I were trying to start a fire but we couldn't find any paper anywhere. He jokingly says if we dont' want to go out, maybe we should pray and we'll find some in the woods or something. Not three seconds after those words left his lips did we had some door to doors pull up, walk up to us, talk about God, pass us these little illustrated booklets of how unbelievers were going to burn in hell, then they thanked us for our time and drove off. Very polite bunch. My father and I looked at each other, grinned sheepishly, looked up, said thank you, and started the bonfire we had been planning. Roasted smores and had one of the best nights ever with my family.
What book are you most likely to have your nose stuck in?
Fantasy. Terry Pratchett FTW!
Favorite game?
*blush* yeah total geek. Munchkin is a blast if you have 3 or more people over to play with.
What is your most unusual skill?
Any video game I play I start out at an intermediate skill level. I can just pick something up and it'll seem like I've played it for months, however, it's slow for me to advance in skill level past that.
Porn: Exploitive or entertaining?
There's a difference?
Which X-Man do you most resemble, physically?
Beaker
What is your totem animal?
Kipi!
Sadly this bird is now extinct. NOT MY FAULT.
Do you carry a towel with you at all times?
Got one stored in a backpack I keep in my jeep. Never know when you might suddenly go camping :p
Do you know why I asked the question above?
In a universe as crazy as this, a man needs to know where his towel is.
Personal motto.
It's not worth doing something unless you were doing something that someone, somewere, would much rather you weren't doing.

I've actually never encountered one.
What book are you most likely to have your nose stuck in?
Harry Potter >_> Or anything by Haruki Murakami.
Favorite game?
Do drinking games count?
What is your most unusual skill?
I can meow louder than I can scream.
Porn: Exploitive or entertaining?
Entertaining!
Which X-Man do you most resemble, physically?
I've been told I look like Rogue.
What is your totem animal?
Cat.
Do you carry a towel with you at all times?
Of course.
Do you know why I asked the question above?
....wanna go get high?
Personal motto.
Assume nothing.
Yeeeeeah short and sweet. Ask if you want to know more? =3

Also... Back in Cleveland we had stores like Chain Link Addiction and Puff n' Stuff, which were the sort of places that Hot Topic pretends to be. We got any stuff like that around here?

This weekend: Update yellowvalley and I are planning on a trip to Cuyahoga Valley National park tomorrow around 7am. One of her friends is going; I don't have any friends willing to get up before noon on a Sunday.
I'm Brigid, by the way, ya'll.
We're thinking Plain Township as a meeting place - that's where she lives. I live at the corner of Brunnerdale and Frank and could carpool with folks coming from that area.
We can use the comments here to make specific plans.

Harry Potter fever and game night 1. Do any of you know about cool Harry Potter happenings Friday night? Preferably ones that do not involve hairy men trounsing around in Hermione Grainger costumes (which is to say, do any of you know of any Harry Potter events where people won't be in costume).
2. Would we like to set up a game night some day next week (the week of the 23rd). I'm busy Monday but free the rest of the week.

Laser Quest So Wednesday is my husband's 25th birthday, and I've decided to throw him a "party" consisting of his friends and family trying to kill each other with fake guns. Sounds great right? So I'm booking Laser Quest, but as we've never been I was wondering if anyone has been and can give me a review of the place?
Thanks.

Ah, cat macros. The kitten calendar for the cool kids.
Lets talk about board game night. We'll make the decisions one at a time-like so as to make planning easier. So, the first questions
1. Who's in?
2. Are weekends or weekdays better for you?

Big Holiday coming up in two weeks....
Independence Day is coming up in two weeks. Was wondering what each of you lovely people do, if anything, for the holiday.
Local events you want to share? Best fireworks? Best atmosphere? Best food?
I usually try to take all four of my nephews to downtown Akron for the big fireworks show. We usually go down for lunch and eat in Quaker Square for lunch before walking down to Lock Three for the concerts and such. We usually go about half way down the ramp to the MLK and pick ourselves a spot next to the edge.
I try to pick up Canton's in Memorial Park, but that's not always an option with my schedule. Kind of a crap shoot, actually. Been a while since I've gone, but from what I can remember, the atmosphere is better there than in Akron.
Never been to Jackson/North Canton when they had theirs. Anyone?
