[Current Location |Home] [mood awakeawake] [music Kiss The Girl - Get Set Go]hey, i'm a newbie at this community, but i thought you people might sympathise. I live in Australia and (becuase it the "non-ratings season") all of my favourite shows aren't back until MARCH NEXT YEAR AT THE SOONEST. And by my favourite shows i mean Prison Break, CSI, CSI:NY, Grey's Anatomy, Lost, Desperate Houswives, Numb3rs, Criminal Minds, Jericho, House, Supernatural ..... *sigh*PLUS we're still in like the middle of the second season of Veronica Mars and the chanel that it's on (channel Ten) has it on really late.thankfully though, westill have The Daily Show, or i would have gone nuts by now.

Day Break [Dec. 20th, 2006|09:19 pm]Nerd TV - for people who watch too much
[**mood** |coldbummed]So Day Break is cancelled?!?! Awwww crap. 6 episodes have aired, but there are 7 eps that haven't (and won't)Apparently ABC is posting the remaining episodes online... but they won't let anyone outside the U.S. watch them!!! That SUCKS.It was a bit convoluted, but I was actually getting into this show. I knew it was a tough sell, but I thought it'd at least be allowed to run a full season. Man.laterdon

Smallville season 1 [May. 2nd, 2005|12:10 am]Nerd TV - for people who watch too much
[mood** |amusedamused] [music** Gary Jules - Mad World]I'm watching Smallville season 1 on YTV (Saturdays 8:00pm, repeats 12:00am & Sunday 8:00pm, repeats 1:00am)I thought I'd tune into the odd episode, since I've seen most of them already. But I still find it an enjoyable series to rewatch. For some reason Smallville feels like a summer type of program. Sure, every episode revolves around Kryptonite, & almost every ep ends with a final scene of Lana & Clark talking, but the series is very breezy & light.... fun to watch. I'd been hoping that someone would finally re-air the old episodes in Canada, and at first I was disappointed to hear that it was only going to be on weekends, not every weekday. But now I think that's kind of a good thing. A daily dose might be a bit too much. I find it tough to dedicate to a daily series.... after spending the last 7-8 months trying to catch up with Third Watch on A&E, I'm glad to not be tied to a series like that... for now...laterdon

Hi, everybody. I have a bit of a favor to ask of you all! For the final paper for the Media, Culture, & Society course that I'm taking right now, I'm doing a research project on viewer reception of The Daily Show. This was kind of inspired by Jon Stewart's appearance on Crossfire, when he railed on the hosts for turning debate into theatre, and when they railed back on him saying that he did the same thing, which he brushed off, asserting that the show is obviously comedy, and therefore not held to the same standards as "actual" news. For the project, I'm hoping to get together some information that I can study and then draw some conclusions about how audiences actually consider the show and explore the intent of the show versus how it's received. At any rate, this is where you all come in. I think the people in this community are probably a good demographic for the survey I've developed to help with my research, so if you all could be so kind as to fill it out and either email me (rachael at brightandbeautiful dot org) or just reply with a comment with your responses, that would be awesome. Thanks so so much!! I really appreciate it. ( Here's the survey!Collapse )
