Kilgore police are investigating a Monday morning crash that left a pedestrian dead.

Kilgore police officers and firefighters responded to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the 700 block of State Highway 135 shortly after 8 a.m.

Upon arrival, first responders determined that a white 2024 Ford pickup truck traveling southbound had left the roadway and struck a pedestrian at the CB Tire Shop, police said. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary findings indicate that the driver of the Ford pickup truck experienced a medical emergency prior to the crash. The identities of the individuals involved are being withheld pending notification of next of kin and further investigation, police said.

The incident remains under investigation by the Kilgore Police Department.
