Play they just put on under the direction of “Yours Truly” and Hattie King-Reavis-with an extraton of praise going to Hattie King-Reavis who really selected the right play “Getting Pinned” and did more than just inspire those Student-nurses.There’re no regrets having begun ; with the group during the Spring when the first group seemed to have enjoyed a brief Charm ; Course along with some hints on Speech, along with some play reading and Body Movement. And by special invitation Hattie King-1 i Reavis answered “Yes” to your I ! Lou and has religiously been on the scene and the Sunday Performance told the story in a most beautiful way as was expressed by Superintendent Alida Dailey and Activities Director Laurie Johnson after the Program.Adding splendor to the Program were the Student Nurses' Choral Group under the direction of Mr. N. Simmons, “The Creation” by Gwendolyn Mayo, a Piano Solo by Miss Dangler, and selected Solos i by Baritone David Joseph.The play was “double-cast” andthose who appeared on Sunday December 11th were Willia Mae Strickland, Doris Ashworth, Doris Murphy, Helen Jackson, Dorothea Scott, Ethel White, Thelma Hayes, Thurston Bacon. Maxine Terrell, Clarissa Marrow, and Minnie Me-I Clain took care of Props. Costumes and Make-up. Others who will, appear at a later date will be Peggy Howell; Marilyn Singleton, Ethel James Ernestine Thomas, Gwendolyn Mayo, Gertrude Blair, Arvilla Wilson, and M. Allison as well as those who might try out in the near future.So you can know that the Harlem Hospital School of Nursing is ready for a Merry Christmas while giving that unselfish service to those who are shut-in, and Lou (Hotel Theresa) Swarz along with Hattie King-Reavis say THANKS and GREETINGS to them and all.
