It is achieved by following a protocol called IP over InfiniBand (IPoIB). To develop and test new techniques that depend on IPoIB protocol, a network simulation model for IPoIB is desired. In this work, an IPoIB simulation model based on OMNeT++ framework has been designed. This simulation model also supports InfiniBand quality of service (QoS) and InfiniBand network partitions. Simulation results, validated against physical systems, show the accuracy of the proposed model.

Vision-based activity recognition is a very important and challenging problem to track and understand the behavior of agents through videos taken by various cameras. The primary technique employed is computer vision. Vision-based activity recognition has found many applications such as human-computer interaction, user interface design, robot learning, and surveillance, among others. This report describes the literature served for developing human activity recognition algorithm and a novel approach to it.

Due to its extremely lower latencies, InfiniBand is used to connect computer nodes in datacenters whereas Ethernet is used for management, storage area networks (SANs), etc. Therefore, it is imperative to have a mechanism to translate the InfiniBand frames to the Ethernet frames to make the two types of networks seamlessly communicate with each other. This paper introduces a gateway model which can be implemented as a virtual network function that translates Ethernet and InfiniBand frames using IPoIB protocol. Experimental results show that performance of the proposed solution is at par with that of Ethernet. Ethernet is considered for performance benchmark comparison since in the...

Most Datacenters or HPC systems uses InfiniBand(IP over InfiniBand (IPoIB) to support IP-based applications) or Gigabit Ethernet or both as the interconnection technology. However, these two networks have their inherent semantic differences. Therefore, it is imperative to introduce a gateway inorder to translate InfiniBand and Gigabit Ethernet protocols so as to make nodes following these protocols able to communicate with each other. Existing hardware gateway solutions have speed advantages, but it is expensive at the same time in terms of scalability and manageability. In this thesis, we present a Gateway Virtual Network Function (VNF) that can be plugged in an NFV infrastructure and seamlessly translate Ethernet and InfiniBand (IPoIB) frames. Primarily proposed gatew...

As we are moving more and more towards the application of this newly emerging technology, it is essential to study, evaluate and analyse the performance, security and other related problems that might be encountered in cloud computing. Since, it is not a feasible way to directly analyse the behaviour of cloud on such problems using the real hardware and software resources due to its high costs, modelling and simulation has become a very powerful tool to cope with these issues. In this paper, we review, analyse and compare features of the existing cloud computing modelling and simulation tools.
