IDA Foundation is an independent social enterprise providing medical goods to healthcare organizations worldwide, at the best price possible. We recognise that in today's world, essential medicines remain out of reach for too many people. IDA bridges those gaps so that healthcare providers have access to quality products at a fair price. We distribute over 3000 different health products to customers and partners in over 130 countries. We work with international and local NGOs, large funding organisations, ministries of health and central medical stores, and smaller charity or mission hospitals. Headquartered in Amsterdam, we are a global organisation with over 200 employees representing almost 30 nationalities. We have offices in the Netherlands, India, China, and Nigeria as well as representative agents in over 30 countries. We pride ourselves on our professional, diverse, and multicultural team, which is passionate about our mission.

- Our IDA Foundation colleagues Eghosasere Ramnaps - Health Partnerships Manager NCDconnect and Jules LEBEAU - Junior Area Manager attended a successful edition of the EPN Biennial Forum in Tanzania. NCDconnect is an IDA Foundation initiative that directly addresses the growing need for affordable medicines for noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). Launched as a dedicated programme, NCDconnect focuses on the distribution of quality, affordable medicines to treat diseases such as cancer. By leveraging its established distribution networks, IDA can streamline the supply chain and make NCD medicines accessible to vulnerable populations.
The 9th Biennial Forum of the Ecumenical Pharmaceutical Network gathered over 200 stakeholders from 25 countries, united to accelerate access to quality healthcare across Africa. It was a fantastic opportunity to explore solutions for bridging the last mile in healthcare by addressing the ongoing barriers that fuel inequity! The event emphasised key strategies: • Primary Health Care Matters: The Alma-Ata Declaration remains as crucial today as it was 40 years ago, emphasising that health is a community-wide responsibility, reliant on engaged health workers, sustainable financing that minimises out-of-pocket expenditure, and community support. • Tackling Inequity in UHC: The Global Monitoring Report shows that NCDs still lag behind other health priorities. Closing this gap is essential for achieving Universal Health Coverage. • Resilient Systems through Local Manufacturing: Uninterrupted access to high-quality, affordable health products is essential for resilient healthcare systems. Coordinated, continent-wide manufacturing and procurement mechanisms are vital for addressing the “Empty Shelf” Syndrome, reducing dependency on imports and dismantling the growing market for substandard and falsified medicines. • Embracing Digital Health technologies: As the WHO Director-General says, “The future of health is digital.” Digital tools are essential to drive efficiency and expand access, requiring strong collaboration and resources. 👫 The message is clear: Together, we can achieve more. What an inspiring and action-packed few days at the World Cancer Congress in Geneva! 🌍 Over 2,000 delegates from 120+ countries gathered, reaffirming our collective commitment to reducing the global cancer burden. Key highlights: 🔸 Survivors led the agenda with powerful stories. 🔸 Insightful Partnership Access Meeting, organised by #ATOM, exploring new collaborations through data-sharing and resource mobilisation with The Max Foundation, Medicines Patent Pool, NCDconnect, and IDA Foundation. 🔸 Engaging panel on access to cancer medicines for all hosted by IDA Foundation and with Wilbert Bannenberg Zuzaan Zulzaga Joan-Paula Bor Malenya Sandra Nobre Bart van Osch Callie Weber🔸 Exciting discussions on AI and digital technology for advancing healthcare equity. 🔸 Work is underway to shape the next 10-year World Cancer Declaration, integrating issues like bridging inequities, early detection, AMR, UHC, and climate change. 🔸 And an energising meeting with Claire Barnhoorn, our tech partner Solvoz, discussing next steps for NCDconnect.
