The Wildcat Den! (original) (raw)

I am the author of a book called the Michigan Transfer Scholarship Guide: Public Colleges 2007. The book discusses transfer opportunities available to Michigan college students. Subjects covered in the book include:

Available Transfer Scholarships

Exceptions to MACRAO

Housing requirements, options, and costs at Michigan’s public universities

Available Majors

Graduation Requirements at Michigan’s public universities

Tuition and fee prices

I wrote the book because, after meeting with an academic advisor at my community college every semester, I transferred with the confidence I would not lose any credits. And, that’s all. Residence Life policies at my new school left much to be desired. Credits advisors had said would complete MACRAO did not, and I could have qualified for better transfer scholarships elsewhere. Other transfer students I had met were encountering similar problems.

It is understandable that on occasion students may be inaccurately advised. Academic advisors have the daunting job of consulting hundreds of students about, hundreds of programs, at dozens of universities in the state. The Michigan Transfer Scholarship Guide is a single source where prospective transfer students can compare all their options. It will be updated yearly and a version covering this state’s private colleges is being written.

The book can be ordered through Amazon.com, Bn.com, and through any other bookstore. If you order it through a bookstore the ISBN is: 0-9788542-0-9.

If you don’t want to buy one, review copies have been sent to community college academic advising offices throughout the state. If you do not have access to a community college academic advising office, please tell your library to order a copy.

Sincerely,

Andrew Watts
