For anyone who has been in NCIS fandom for the past few years will know, Tiva has become a polarizing issue. This community grew out of one side of that issue. Throughout the last half of Shane Brennan's run as show runner, fandom passions ran high and many battles were fought. Now the show we all love has a new show runner and a new sensibility, it seemed appropriate to try to leave the battlefields of the past behind us.
In that vein we have decided to close this community and, instead, open NICS No Romance - All Subtext for those of us who prefer our quirky crime fighters fighting crimes quirkily rather than getting involved in romantic adventures.
So, come and join us in our new digs! We've got the 200th episode coming up on February 7 and we'd like to see you all there.
Grab your gear, folks!

No change in the past two weeks in the Adults 18-49 demo and share; the increase in the total number of viewers means it gained viewers outside the demo (i.e., younger than 18 or older than 49).
That's it until the 200th episode airs on February 7! I'm expecting some spikes in the ratings for the occasion. :-)

Depending on who you follow on Twitter, you may know already that there will be an NCIS panel next Wednesday, January 11, as part of the Television Critics Association press tour. (The TCA holds semi-annual press gatherings in L.A., where each network makes a day or two of presentations about shows premiering or returning mid-season.) (Source: http://www.hitfix.com/blogs/whats-alan-watching/posts/a-couple-hundred-tv-critics-walk-into-a-bar)
The official hashtag at Twitter is #tca12, and it's pretty busy. I'm not sure how much coverage the NCIS panel will get, but keep an eye out at the usual sources. Even if NCIS gets light coverage, the hashtag can be fun to follow; last night there was a whole string of tweets from critics totally excited to be watching Tony Bennett perform as part of the PBS presentation. *g*

Hi folks and happy 2012!
Tejas and I have just been informed that community creator pruehall has left LJ, and thus, this community, which she founded. While I know we’ll miss prue, this leaves us as a community as a crossroads. We’re examining options and discussing possibilities for a relaunch.
Since No Tiva has become quite quiet, we’d love to hear from you about ideas for revitalizing the community. Please feel free to drop us a message (via LJ) with any suggestions or ideas you may have.
We want No Tiva to be a comfortable place to discuss the show. Please bear with us as we get some ideas in motion to do just that! In the meantime, if you have any spoilers, articles or discussion, please, by all means, post them here!
Happy New Year and thanks for reading!
Tejas and TG

1. Sorry for not posting the ratings for Newborn King the day after it aired; I just completely spaced out. I added the information to the archives above.
2.
TV By The Numbers hasn't posted the Tuesday Final ratings yet; as soon as I see them, I'll edit this entry and add the information.
ETA: Info has been added; NCIS was adjusted down in the overnights. Even without them, it's easy to see that the episodes that aired right around the holidays suffered, and that it helps to air new episodes in January, when there are lots of reruns. (I suspect this is part of why CBS always orders a couple of extra episodes of NCIS; it gives them something to air while the other networks have to hold new episodes until February sweeps.)
3. The Nielsen Company released its list of Top Ten Regularly Scheduled Programs of 2011 (read: series, not specials); the only scripted shows in the top ten were NCIS and NCIS:LA.
1. American Idol-Wednesday, Fox, 8.1 rating (persons 2+), 23.9 million total viewers
2. American Idol-Thursday, Fox, 7.5 rating, 22.0 million
3. Sunday Night Football, NBC, 7.1 rating, 20.5 million
4. Dancing with the Stars, ABC, 6.7 rating, 19.6 million
5. Dancing with the Stars Results, ABC, 5.8 rating, 16.9 million
6. Sunday Night NFL Pre-Kick, NBC, 5.5 rating, 15.9 million
7. NCIS, CBS, 5.2 rating, 15.2 million
8. NFL Regular Season, ESPN, 4.5 rating, 13.1 million
9. The OT, Fox, 4.4 rating, 12.9 million
10. NCIS: Los Angeles, CBS, 4.3 rating, 12.6 million
Since this is going by the calendar year, not the broadcast-network season, this data is from the back half of Season 8 and the front half of Season 9. Also, it looks like the rating is not the Adults 18-49 demographic, but "Persons 2+," which might be literally "Anyone older than two years." (I'm still researching this; look for more info as I find it.) This list represents how much viewing patterns have changed since the advent of the DVR and online viewing; people just don't watch scripted shows live much anymore.
The source is here, but I copy-and-pasted the information from a TV Week recap of the Nielsen information because it was presented in a format that was easier to carry over here.
There are some other tables at the Nielsen link above that you might find interesting, even though NCIS doesn't appear on them. (#1 Most Timeshifted Series: American Horror Story.)

There were no adjustments to any ratings between the overnights and the final ratings, which is relatively unusual. Nearly everything was down significantly last night, even reality-TV performance shows (The X Factor) and finales (Dancing with the Stars). The entire CBS lineup had season lows, and NBC was down as well. Apparently a lot of people are traveling or have relatives visiting already for Thanksgiving. *g*
