Need a place in Evanston this summer?I'm subletting my room at 1619 Ridge for July and August. It's an amazing room with everything you need including its own bathroom. I'm asking for $500 a month for rent, but we can work out something if it is too much. Let me know if you're interested or have any friends who are hunting for a place.-Dennis | |

[ **mood** | chipper ] so, i don't know what everyone's schedule is like or whatever, but i thought it would be cool if we all got together and had dinner one night in one of the halls or something. if anyone has a more interesting suggestion, i'd love to hear. we could meet somewhere central (the rock, norris) and go from there. I was thinking Sunday night. Let me know what you kids think. | |

FYI: The Target is not close to Northwestern. It's about 20 or 25 minutes away. There's a Bed, Bath and Beyond and a Linens N Things about the same distance, if either of those are preferable---but they are in Wilmette and Skokie, respectively. Just in case you were hoping to avoid the warzone that that Target will inevitably be.Get psyched! Only a few more days. Anyone doing CATalyst? I have a question. | |

"Thanks and we look forward to the arrival of the Class of 2008 for New Student Week in less than a week!"::grin:: how exciting.i actually leave tommorrow for a wedding first so i have to finish packing TONIGHT. which would be fine except i have a STYE in my eye so it means one eye is pretty much swollen shut so i can hardly see. its lovely. i wrote a poem about it. it's lovely also (ahaha there is a reason im NOT in medill---only medill JUST for you carla). Okay, i'm done rambling. As i will be without internet for the next few days or so (i'll be in new york, and there are more exciting things to do in new york than the internet) I hope everyone has a GREAT flight/drive, finishes saying goodbye and packing and i'll see all (or some or none) of you next week!!Sharon | |

For you journalism people | [06 Sep 2004|12:17pm] |
---|---|
So lately I have been going back and forth about working for the school paper. I have always done it in high school but am not in the medill school of journalism or anything.I don't even want to write particularily but just do page design :-) i love page design; it makes me happy. Anyway, moving on to the question:are any of you bringing a portfolio of what you have done in high school?Cause I wasn't going to but everyone has been telling me I need to and I dont know so im going back and forth. I have most of my school newspapers from my high school years so it wouldn't be a big deal, I was just wondering if I need to or not 'cause its extra work if I dont have to do so.Okay now that im done with the question that is really uneccessarily long, back to PACKING, like everyone else and their mom. Ywo great finds of last night: a cassette player and a tape recorder with an old newspaper interview from freshman year from back in the days when my editors convinced me to tape record until I got good at taking notes. | |

Wanted: Moderator(s)? | [05 Sep 2004|03:43pm] |
---|---|
[ **mood** | blah ] I've decided to leave the livejournal world, and that means I will not be moderating NU_08. I'm doing this for my own sanity here =). It was really great moderating because it blossomed into such a nice, little livejournal community, and I never had to cut a post or comment out. Is there anyone out there who would like to be the new moderator? I have already been notified by a few people (Carla and others) who would like to fill the job. I'm up for as many as 3 moderators. If you want the job please IM me: jillianbarbra or email me: j-nameth@northwestern.edu, or facebook me...whatever! It was really nice meeting you all via livejournal, and I'm sure I'll see some of you on campus! Now back to filling up boxes....Goodbye,Jillian | |

Random thoughts... | [05 Sep 2004|10:54am] |
---|---|
[ mood | disheveled ] 1. I thought I'd share this really creepy dream I had last night. I called my father to discuss flying to Northwestern, and he was completely freaked out about me going because NU was located in Iraq. He kept saying that whoever attended was going to be enlisted in the army. I refused to believe him and told him that I was going to go to Iraq, regardless... Bad omen??2. Am I reasonable in believing that all the major one-stop shop strores (ie. WalMart, Target, etc.) in Evanston are going to look like they were struck by a renegade tornado come September 13th?yeah. | |
