Warhol star Joe Dallesandro was so iconic that he appeared on the cover of The Smiths’ self-titled album and The Rolling Stones’ Sticky Fingers. The Smiths’ cover is from the Warhol film Flesh, and the Stones’ cover is from a Polaroid that Warhol took of Joe.
But he never saw himself as a star, was a jailbird hoodlum runaway before his fame, worked as a humble security guard at the Warhol Factory, and after retiring from acting, he became a property manager. He’s a B-movie legend yet he’s so low key and chill
