Nearing Three (original) (raw)
if babies are allergic to something now...does that mean they will hold that allergy forever or just for a while? Liam tried pears and his chin broke out...wondering if that means we shoudl stay away from them for now or forever.
So.....my daughter now refuses to go to anyone except me, my husband and my mom (she comes by everyday.) Anyone elses baby going through this "phase"? When will it end?! ::pulls out hair::
Everyone is having their four month checkups, I called at the beginning of feb. to make Aubry's appt. and since it's a new place I didn't know to make it far in advance. Her appt. is next friday, a week and a half before she turns five months :) I wish she didn't have to get shots, but I'm excited to find out how much she weighs!!
I have to say my favorite purchase since Aubrys birth is her exersaucer! She loves it and plays in it for a long time.
So, what is everyones babies doing? rolling over? sitting up? When Aubry wakes up she turns herself so that she's facing another direction but she hasn't started rolling over yet, I saw her try but she didn't quite make it all the way :)
Ok so Liam had his 4 month appointment yesterday...
He's now 12lbs 8.5 oz 24 1/2 long
Now after being yelled at for a few different things she ended up telling us that Liam has to go to a doctor about a flat spot on his head. She wants him to be messured to make sure that he doesn't need a helmet. This basically sent me off the deep end and almost started crying. I didn't want it to come to this and we were told if we got him to start sleeping on the other side of his head things would be ok. Apparently doing that however has caused other problems. =\
Anyways so i was wondering if any one has delt with helmets or know any one who has? Do they have to wear them all day every day or just at night? Doctor tried to tell me this happens often and that its not a cause for concern at this point its just there is a small window to correcting things. But she also said any one with a slight flat spot she sends over to be evulated. =\ Helpful but still upsetting still. If any one knows anything or knows someone who might or something please let me know. I've searched a bit couldn't find much. I'm trying to get a lot of info before his appointment and before we move because I'm likely to be losin the net (to be transfered) before his appointment so I need to do it now.
I find it very ironic that before I was pregnant, every time I would go to the bathroom, I would be hoping and praying that my period was not there, and now that I have had the baby, and started my cycle back, when it's that time of the month, I go to the bathroom hoping and praying for it to be there.

I just have a quick question. Does anyone know if Postpartum Depression can go and then come back a few months latter. I went through it for about 2.5 months and it feels like I am right back there. My son is 4.5 months old. Is this possible or could it be somthing else? It is not as bad but I am scared that it will go back to how it was.
Thanks :)
Just got back from our four month appointment with our new pediatrician. I really like this one much better than our old one, who was not very breastfeeding supportive. He kept suggesting interventions before there were even problems. The new guy didn't even mention starting solids yet! I'm thrilled.
Elisabeth is now 27 inches long (97%) and 15 lbs, 7.5 ozs (90%). The doctor says she's on the growth curve to top six feet!

I forgot to post about Benjamin's "4 month" appointment. I say that in quotes because we had it early, at 3 months, 2 weeks.
He's still a giant (9lbs, 2oz at birth). We was 17lbs, 10oz and 27" long. I can't believe that some of our 6-9month clothes aren't fitting yet!
Our ped delays vaccinations (which we would be doing anyway, but it's nice to have a ped that does the same), so we didn't do any of those. She did talk a little about food, just to give us the heads up. She said sometime around 6 months we can start with some orange vegetables. None of us are ready for food yet. I'm especially not ready for the diapers that come along with non-boobie food! Ick! :P
He did have a yeast diaper rash, though. :( I was waiting for one of us to get something yeasty, since I had to be on antibiotics for mastitis awhile ago. The worst part is, it's still here!
Who else is dealing with yeast? (In any of it's horrible forms.)
Noelle had her 4 month check-up today. She weighed in at 10 pounds, 1 ounce. She was 7 pounds 14 ounces at birth. She is now 23 and 1/4 inches long. Everyone says she's going to be a long skinny baby, which is fine with me. She got her shots and surpisingly, she did not cry very much at all. During the first two, her face kind of puckered up and she looked more bothered than hurt. The third one hurt the worst and she yelped, but as soon as I got her in my arms she was fine.
I decided to test the dr. to ask when she should start foods and he failed the test. According to the AAP, if a baby is sitting up on their own, and showing interest in foods, then you should try cereal or whatnot. Her doctor said, "Oh, she can start any time now, just put a little cereal in her bottle." I don't think I will be doing that.
Other than that, it was a great appointment!!
Ok I have a quick question for the moms who are feeding solids already...What made you decide to start them??
I'm a little frustrated and angry and the Doctor has yet to call. I love my sons doctor but I really wish I could by pass talking to the nurses before I get a chance to talk to her because her and I think a lot alike and if I'm worried about something she makes me feel better and gives me the info instead of saying "your doing it wrong" which is basically what the nurses just told us. Grr.
Frustrating as all hell. =\ ( Read more...Collapse )
